Can someone recommend a product/method to remove the glue from under the OEM decals?

I am removing the decals from the plastic and I was easilty able to peel off the decal using heat from a hairdryer but there is still the glue residue left and it will not come off with anything I have tried so far.

Turpentine - nope
Kerosene - nada
Duplicolor degreaser (paint prep) - nada
Label and Sticker remover spray from Canadian Tire (I'll be returning that ) :bs:
Goo Gone - Hah! gimme a break

I tried carb cleaner (acetone, methyl alcohol, toluene) on a spare piece and it eats the clearcoat and the ABS plastic.

Any ideas?

Thanks!  I didn't see that post B4.  I think I've inhaled too many fumes lately.

I like WD40.  It's good for getting just about anything off. :thumb:

I have a friend that rips them off when you're not looking...  I think I'll bury him in the desert if he tries that with me!!!   :guns:

It's not lazy to leave 'em on...  The stickers make you cooler!

If you're the type that writes on your fuel receipts (total miles / trip miles / etc) the warning sticker makes a better backing than the metal tank.  Gotta love that thermal-print paper.  (Not :x )

I had the same problem; nothing worked. and I tried every thing under the sun. In the end It took me two days; with a blade from a stanley knife, just very very gently scraping it off. Keep the blade as flat as possible  and push into the gliue. Its a pain, but it works and if you are very careful  and you take your time you wont scratch the paint Wet just a bit at a time with petrol  I scratched mine  a bit when I was too tired  and should have stopped.

Good luck to you :)

Thanks!  Nothing I tried worked except the Carb cleaner and it removes paint too.

These are not the warning stickers.  I ripped those off after the 1st year I had the bike.  Those ones I justed pulled off real slowly and all the gunk came off.  The ones I am having trouble with are the OEM graphics stickers.

I'll give the naptha a try.  I've tried WD-40 in the past and didn't seem to work.
