Hello Filipe! You are concerned about the correct things. The pre 03 GS only had mechanical inputs for the tach and speedometer. Starting in 03, some markets may have had an electric tach, but still a mechanical speedo. 04+ US market has mechanical speedo and electric tach.

There are several things to overcome to make a GS XR panel work on a GS. I seriously do not know that it can be done easily.

It would be much better to enjoy the simplicity of the GS.  :)

That said, there is an aftermarket computer that may be able to give you the new look you are desiring.  Look over this link.

The advantage of an analog gauge is that it gives information in an instant out of the corner of your eye; with a digital gauge, you have to read it.  The GSX-R has an analog tach, and it's a lot easier to note than the speedo.  I'd stick with your stock gauges.

Yeah I would rather order a veypor than messing with that and you get alot more useful features in a cool blue backlit screen.

Before i bought the veypor unit, i was thinking about putting a GSXR panel, but that would have been too much work for what its worth. The install of the veypor took me only the weekend, and i am sure i could have done it in 1 day just i was doing it on and off.

The later model GSXR's use a pick-up sensor for the speedometer on the output shaft at the front sprocket. Basically a magnet and a 4 spline castle type nut. This is typical of all non-cable speedo's.
Common sense in not very common.

I could probably do one. Isnt that hard. Shipping is super fast. I ordered it on monday, and got it tuesday night. You gotta love xpresspost.

Compression was raised to over 11:1
Conterbalanced was ligheted
Hayabusa front caliper
GSXR1100 rear wheel with 190/50 tire
120/70 front tire
GS500 2002+ tank
Seats and tail made by hand in fiberglass
New mercedez SLK paint (the yellow one)
Black power coated (black paint)
Front forks were modified with a oil valve + motul racing oil
Modified rear suspension
LED brake lights
etc, a lot more... :P

Even with high-comp pistons, carb work, etc. I have to call  :bs: on the "75-80hp".  Put it on a dyno.

You've done a really nice job on the cosmetics, it looks sharp.
