To make a long story short we were riding the twisties on sunday and she hit a bit of sand and laid down the bike.  The left side was pretty beat up but was ridable.  I didn't see it, thank god,  I was about 5 minutes behind cause I had never ridden the road before and am still pretty much a nOOb.  She is ok with swollen and bruised knees, bruised left hip, and ankle.  We were all wearing gear and I think her boot saved her ankle from being broken although it now is torn at one of the seams.  Her ego is definately bruised too.  As much as she pisses me off sometimes I am glad she will still be around to continue to piss me off.
Safe riding everyone.

Hey, she's around....be thankful for that. At any rate; she can take her boots to any  shoe repair place and they will be able to mend the seam for her. No big deal 8)

That sure ruins a good day of riding. Glad she got up and rode away.  One tuff girl.

You beat me to it roguegeek.  It is good to here that your friend is ok and that her gear held up.

Gear........ Arai Quantum helmet, Tourmaster mesh jacket( this thing has been through two crashes and is still intact, it has some burns but no tears), Tourmaster sport touring boots( not sure of the model), Fox gloves, and plain old jeans.  The jeans have some road burns but no tears or hole except one in the butt but that may have been there before.

Ok they were actually Alpinestars Web Goretex boots.  They were last years model but still pretty much the same as this years.  The jacket was Tourmaster Cortech GX Air.

Glad she's ok. Will she buy some overpants, now? Or, leather pants? Women's legs don't look so good with roadrash. And, I'ma legman.

I've got a pair of those; both sides of the ankles are protected, very comfy.  And with some shoe polish, I can wear them to business meetings under slacks.   They have a "heel counter" (?), but no hard cup behind the heel.

I got a pair of Vertebra 2's for harder riding: better heel protection, and toe sliders (already scraped  ).
You cannot escape our master plan!

She has overpants but I dont know why she didn't wear them.  She did wear them today when she rode the bike up to the dealer to get it fixed.  And her knee was various shade of purple today.  I wanted to take a picture but she wouldn't let me :( .
