Gixxer.com called photochop (sorry, forum is down right now for the link), and I believe it.  IMO, on a faired sportbike, form should follow function, and that's just too crazy angular for aerodynamics.

Chris_B

isnt angular good for aerodynamics? like the ferrari F40?

They didn't even think the stealth 117A would get off the ground at first.  And even then if a problem arrises with the computer it is almost impossible to fly.

It has conventional wing designs to produce lift.  Two main wings and the tail acts as another set since all are about the same width.  The entire rear of the plane acts the verticle tail.

It needs a little more speed to maintain the lift and not stall, side affect of such small wing area.

So this isn't the actual R1?  Someone "photochopped" it?  They did a good job, cause the bike looks sweet.  8)
Lets do this.  I'm a cashew.

Why, oh WHY, do they put the bike in one state (say NY) and the license plate in another (say NJ)...why don't the manufacturers hug those plates up to the butts of the bikes??  :?

I think that new R6 looks great  :thumb:

Looks like the R6 has taken a page from the GSX-R 1000 (flat tail).

roguegeek

That is one sweet machine. I'm way digging the exhaust. Undertail exhausts don't thrill me that much.

I didn't notice until you pointed that out, but - that's a stubby little exhaust.  Exiting right at the rider's heel.

It does look kind of stubby.

whether that R1 is a photochop or not, I like it.

As for the R6 it looks like a good bike, but that color scheme has got to go.  I think I prefer the 03-05 R6.

The R1 is definitely some photoshop kid's fantasy. Here you will be able to find real marketing photos of the production 2006 Yahama R1. You'll also be able to see photos of the 2006 Yamaha R6 and its different color schemes along with photos of the 2006 Kawasaki ZX10R and ZX10RR.

I think I'm in love with the yellow/black R6. Love that exhaust. :thumb:
