Help for Katrina victims

Hey guys,

A friend of mine on a local forum for my city (winnipeg), has volunteered his time to make a GREAT website to help out the victims of the hurricane. This is exactly what he typed. This is not spam or anything. He is actually giving his time to help people.

The site let anyone with space in their home to take refugees sign up to share that space. Then, it provides a number of ways to get that information to refugees - printable pages that can be posted up at shelters, and - as of tonite - access by cellphone.

Anyway, the site has really taken off with a lot of people signing up, and lots of media attention (did an interview w/ global on Friday, along with a few others). However, the most important attention comes from the grassroots, which is what I need everyone's help with:

If you have a few spare minutes, please post about KatrinaHome.com to whatever forums you visit. Of course, it would be also great if you could email friends and family (especially those in the US), and even better, if you can email radio stations, TV stations, and newspapers.

Spreading the word is a huge help, and anything you can do to help would be appreciated. Forums have huge power to get people involved, so please post at whatever forums you frequent.

One more thing: the cellphone functionality is new, and I need help testing it. If you have a phone, point its browser to wap.katrinahome.com and let me know what you see (email me at rod@upcomingdiscs.com).
