Mystery Wires

There are two red/green wires going up toward the left handlebar (where the light switch/turn signal is) that aren't connected to anything. They end has a sort of plug thing, but it obviously isnt connected. Everything on that side seems to be working, lights, signals, horn, clutch etc. Any ideas what they could be? It looks like the other end connects to the back of the headlamp.

It sounds like someone added those prior to you obtaining the bike. The stock left side electrical stuff is all located in a plastic sleeve. That sleeve ends with a yellow female connector. I have one yellow wire with a bullet male pin also running out of the sleeve.

No red or green in that wiring harness on a stock GS.

Can you say "modification"? Probably for a gadget powered while the bike is on. Some people replace a black wire with a green wire for the negative lead. Red is usually the positive.

The electrons don't care about the color of the insulation.
