Wow, you did a lot of work. Good job  :thumb:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

davipu

you know what happens when you polish a turd.

you get a turd with polish on it.
i'm sorry but it's still a 500.

seamax

If you don't mind me asking..how much did that all cost?  :o

Wouldn't it have been more economical to have just bought bike with higher displacement?

mastrind

yes.....but I bet that a polished turd would:

1. quickly be Yahoo!'s  "most emailed photo"

2. fetch a good bit on ebay

3. be the punchline of every joke on late night TV

4. be davi's life achievement
PETE: It's four in the funking morning!

SHAUN: It's Saturday!

PETE: No, it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm SO FUNKING ANGRY?

ED: Funk, yeah!

JetSwing

davipu, did i ever tell you what an optimist you are?

what did the "reply" button go on this thread?  :dunno:
My hunch was right...Pandy is the biggest Post Whore!

Man what a nice GS. Good job.

Very nice job! :thumb:
it looks like you had the whole thing apart to do what you did.
The name is a little misleading, I'm not 49 anymore and come to think out it I'm not all that speedy.

Bravo!

I'm impressed with the work you did.  Don't let turd sayers bother you.  If you enjoyed doing it then that's all that really matters.  Would you have bought a $10, 000 pound bike and had the same enjoyment?  No, cause you'd be afraid to even touch it for fear of voiding the warranty.

I like the mirrors too.   :thumb:

Congrats!

[edit]

can you re-size the first couple of pictures cause they are huge!  Also, did you get it to run well?  You did a lot of mods all at once so I'm just wondering how you got it to run well. ie what's your carb set-up and did you have to modify the ignition advance etc. Thanks.
