Why is it that boys like to post avatars of near-naked women?

Does it make them more Manly?  :lol:  Is it similar to the boys I see who drive REALLY big trucks with REALLY big tires?  :lol:  :lol:  Does it make up for something that's.... uh... lacking.... or..uh... perhaps missing entirely??!?

My favorites are when they put a chick up that's not even pretty, cute or physically attractive in anyway.

The majoraty of men who do such things do it for the same reason they want an international as a daily driver or think cruising the highway in an 18" lifted suburban with 38's with "cool".  They have what us normal guys call a "masculinity issue".  The rest are just stupid.  You can tell the difference between the majoraty and the minority by the mullets.

Some serious guesses:

Guys like to look at hot chicks (obviously), and if you have a hot chick as your avatar, you get to get to look at it every time you post.  Mostly, though, I'd guess it's about showing off you're taste, and by extension, you personality, and gaining acceptance from other dudes on the board.  Same reason people like to have avatars of, for instance, cars they don't own, or fighter jets, or whatever.  It's a way of saying "look at this cool stuff I like.  I like it 'cause I'm cool, too."

But that's just a guess.

Mine's a robot. He crushes hu-mans. I've thought about changing it to something else, but this red robot seems to be one of my trademarks around here.
