I think the biggest reason that the GS forums are succombing to the PWer's is because we've exhausted the conversation pool regarding our bikes.

Think for a moment about an original thread that you could start about your bike.

Time's UP!

Think about how many posts have gone like this in the recent past:

Post:

Hey, anyone have problems with their bike idling too low / dying at startup?

You need a drop in K&N, a new exhaust, a fenderectomy, and a rejet...see my bike!

etc.

Of course, this post was embellished for your entertainment.  But the reality is that most GStwin topic have been discussed.  I know I on many occasions have looked at all-too-familiar posts hoping to find new information, but have seen the above instead.  That's why I usually just lurk.

BTW, my recent posts have been just about poking fun.  I'm not actually bothered by the rampant PWing.  It's entertaining, and isn't that why alot of us are here?

Also,

Can you tell me how to repaint my bike?  Rejet it?  Different Signals?  New Exhaust?  Filters?  Turbo?  Nicest GS ever...EVER?  Put Fairings on?  Take fairings off?  Aluzio Motors Fairing?  How to Wheelie?  Progressive Springs?  New handle bars?  Mirrors?

Wait, never mind...it's been covered.  I'll do a search
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

Mine's gooder, because it's Purple, and I'm riding it.  If I was riding any of your bikes, you'd worship it

And, you can't think of an original thread because there's nothing else that is wrong with our bike, and that's why they're so hard to find.  'Nuff said.

The GS is like a man of few words.  Action speaks louder than words, and the actions of a silent man speak volumes.  You've got to read between the lines.  Enjoy the silence.

Silence? Whazzat?
It's what you're supposed to be listening to.  Or, it's the really cool tune by Depeche Mode.

The GS is the modern 'plain Jane' of the motorcycle world.  She does everything good, but not any one thing great.
