Looking for windscreen just to keep the wind of my chest
at those higher speeds.
Thinking of the F15 or F16.
The smaller the better for me.
Will the F15 do a decent job?
Just noticed that the F15 comes in a sport and touring.
Touring seems pretty high.
More interested in the sport I guess.

I have the F-16 on my bike and it works great. :thumb:  I don't see any reason why it either one won't work just fine.

I have the F-15 touring and it is not as high as you might think.  It is adjustable too so you can play with the angle.  It really makes a HUGE difference especially if you plan on doing a lot of interstate riding.

Can anyone provide links to the screens you are thinking about?

For my 2001, I have factory accessory FlyScreen:

No Double-Bubble -- just a curved profile.  Works to deflect off the chest, but right into shoulders and head.  Nice compromise between naked looks and windscreen function.  But if I were to do it again, I'd go for more deflection even if it compromises looks.  What I have is great for warm weather (> 60ºF) but for cooler weather you need something larger to hide behind.

IMHO, bigger is better...

Is it about the height of the OEM mirrors?
Any problems mounting it?

Roughly it is but I have mine at a pretty straight up angle.  And as far as mounting no problems, but i have heard that screens that mount to the headlight are more stable than ones that mount to the bars.

Thanks.
I'll probably go with the F-15 touring so I can use the GS more in the winter and for those long trips.
I get so lazy with the V-Strom.

Sounds like a plan.  You def will get more wind protection if u are willing to sacrifice some vanity.
