for the folks that have take the MSF course what did you score on the road test?

I just got a perfect score.  no hits.. :thumb:

Thor S Magic Bathtub

I think I got an 84. Got dinged on the figure eight and quick stop. It was the worste riding I had done for the whole class so I was kinda pissed. But like 50% of the people in my class failed so I got over it.
Congrats on your score!

rtcpenguin

I dont even think we were scored out of 100.

It was something along the lines of for each thing you mess up you get 3 points, and you can't exceed 21 points. I got an 11 or something for not going fast enough into a turn.

fettcols

Not the MSF but I had a perfect score on the Ohio skills test... I cheated... Went down to the course after the BMV closed and practiced the night before.

yes this is how we were scored as well.  there was 4 perfects in the class.  I was one of them, yay!

Alphamazing

I think I was one point off from "perfect" because I got dinged for taking too long in one excercise. I don't think anyone completed it in the "reccomended" time, though.

I also got perfect, riding dirtbikes since you were 8 helps a bit.

In California at the Honda rider education center, the MSF course scored from 0-20, 0 being perfect and 21 failing. I managed to get a 0. Thus encouraged, I later bought a new 2005 GS500F and dropped it while taking it off the center stand to go for a ride the first time

Only one in my class of 15 or so to score perfect. I was like 2 seconds away from the maximum timelimit for the road test, but I was being careful...

I didn't get perfect.  Too slow in the long curve.

Only one person in my class failed.  The instructer invited her back that following Saturday.   He was going to work with her one on one and re-administer the test for her.  That was nice.

I missed about 14 points, but I passed.  I nailed the box and the swerve perfectly, so I decided I had some points to burn and took it easy on the emergency stop, because I'd had trouble with that one in the class.  I lost 12 points by not stopping in the allowed distance, but better that than drop the bike trying to stop too fast.  I also lost 2 points on the curve test for being a tad too slow.

aaronstj

I got 10 points off, five for crossing the line on the box, and five for going too slow through the curve.

I believe all teh MSF courses are graded the same way, with a maximum of 20 penalty points allowed.  Some people just like to think of it as being points out of 100 (like most tests in life), and an 80% score needed to pass.

Ogg: Not spear, caveman.

The Antibody

I had 3 points or so deducted from me, it was so long ago I can't remember why though. It was cake. The course it designed to alow everyone to pass. If you fail, you really shouldn't be on the road.

RVertigo

I don't recall my exact score, but I got dinged twice... Once for locking the rear tire on the quick stop...  And once for using only the front brake one time.

I could have screwed up a few other things and still passed I guess...   I had to redo the swerve because I went WAY too fast out of the box ('cause I was over-excited to have passed the box) and slowed down right before the cones...  When I did it the second time, I just started at a slower speed and they were happy with that...

I was the ONLY person in my class that had to redo one of the parts of the test...  I guess it's good I only screwed up bad on a part I could take over.   :icon_mrgreen:

kalel3914

In my class, they used the reverse scoring method (counting mistake points).  I got 2 off in the big turn because i got too confident and had to let off the throtle a bit to avoid the last cone.  I always was a bit to eager.

Jake D

I guess I had a problem with that long curve for a couple of reasons.  Yeah, I went too slow, but. . .

Here is why: they did specify a speed that wanted me to go, but if I had checked the speedo they would have surely docked me points for not keeping my eyes looking where I needed to go.  Also I took a peek at the cone.  It was dark as heck that night and it had rained all day.  The "cone" was a tiny green thing about thalf the size of a coffee mug.  Yeah, I looked at it.  I couldn't see the damn thing!  I had no idea where I was going!

There is my long curve rant.

Destro

Couldn't find the last cone on my turn, missed it completely and slowed down during the turn, but they only docked me for the slow down. :thumb:  Mine was during the day but the last cone was green while the rest were orange.
