Yup. 400cc motor packs as much punch as our GS, and looks the shaZam! too. A guy on here (sinfulGS I think) is planning on getting a frame and bodywork from Japan and an engine from one of the old VTRs and splicing them together. I think they look gorgeous as hell. I also love the look of Bandit 400s too.

The 250 is straight up sexy...the trellis looks like a total work of art.

They put down right around 28rwhp (crazy-low drivetrain loss) from a 247cc 90* V-Twin and weight 320lbs wet.

If you're looking for one, give up...but there are other options:

The GT250 Comet puts down roughly 24rwhp out of a 249cc 75* V-Twin and weighs in at about 350lbs wet...has beefier brakes and boingers on both ends with far more adjustabillity, too.  Run about $2800 OTD.

Take that Comet 250 and dropa GS motor into it... mmm. That'd be nice.

That  looks very similar to a GS

Hyosung used to be a Suzuki owned company, so the Comet 250 actually is based off the GS500.

Hyosung and Suzuki share some close ties...the SV650 and GT650 motors are basically identicle...slightly lower quality materials used in the GT, but it cost $2~3k less.  Go figure.

BTW, the GS500 block will not fit in the GT250...but the SV650 motor fits in the GT650 without modification....

Well, I know it'd require some modification, but not by much I bet. I still want to get a rear wheel from one of the GT250s.

You're not going to fit the gs motor in there without MAJOR modification to the frame.  You'll have ot see the bike in person to understand it.  It just won't fit.

I think they have one at the dealer here in town, but not sure. The rear wheel would probably be a pretty damn easy swap I bet. Maybe even the front end...

oh...just the wheel and front?  Yeah.  Rumor has it that 91~02 GSXR inverted front ends bolt up to both the 250 and 650 with minimal work...so they should also be reverse compatible.  Fitting wheels is always easy and I know for a fact that B400 rears bolt to the GT250...so the GT's should both to the GS'.

I thought you were talking about putting the GS motor in the GT250...

I was at first, but then I realized it'd be easier just to pull the other components to the GS. I like the bodywork though. The tail would be worth trying to get on to the GS as well. Problem with getting parts for these things is that they aren't very big in the US. At all. I did a big search for a rear wheel a while back and could barely find anything.
