How does the ES12BS wallyword batt fit?/??

It doesn't fit...lol :dunno_white:

am i supposed to cut off the metal surrounding the batt box???

okay i read somewhere that it will fit sideways?...if i was to do that do i need to buy more/longer battery cable??

Sideways, no cut, cover terminals, cables work.

Okay went ahead and did it...had to do some hard pulling/bending...i doubt my wires are too happy.

But man..does that bike start now:)

Hi there,
Are you talking about a sealed battery?
If so, does anyone have a photo they can post of one of the sealed batteries installed in an older GS500? I have a 1991 bike and would be interested to see how it fits. What does sideways mean anyway? Is the battery installed on its side, instead of on its bottom? And that's supposed to be safe?
Also, if you buy stuff, don't go to Wal-Mart. That place is the scourge of our nation. :)

Alright i just installed mine. Its the sealed es12bs batt from wallmart. It fit more or less but if i was to change the battery again i'd go with the OEM yuasa one. I felt i had to strain the wires WAAy too much and twist the metal mounting brackets more than i felt comfortable with.
