Any idea what rotor is on a 2001 Canadian bike?
2001 GS500 12000Km, GSXR Rearsets with Adjustable Mounting, Frame Sliders, Bar end Mirrors, Fenderectomy, Pirelli Sport Demons.

Okay, it's been a while since I've been around these parts... but spring will come eventually, and my mind turns to my poor, poor GS stuck in a garage. Lo and behold, a new "quick and easy mod." I thought I'd done all of those! Sweet, something to line up for next month. So:

What is a signal generator rotor? Can it really be that only the '01 and '02 models got screwed with the CA rotor? Where on my bike is the rotor located? What kind of tools/labor does the switch involve?
2001 GS500 (no letter!)
Progressive springs; Kat600 shock; 15T front sprocket; Wileyco exhaust w/ Srinath flange; rear fenderectomy; Airbrush hugger; desperately in need of rejetting.

I guess all you newb's haven't heard of BobB or his ignition advancer mod, you send him your rotor and some money and he send you back a new and improved ... OK your own rotor but improved ...
And I do carbs ... jet them etc and send them back.

Ah... in the back of my mind I thought that the "signal generator rotor mod" sounded similar to the ignition advancer mod.

But, I thought Bob had stopped doing that for people?  If he has, this seems like  decent stopgap measure for people with '01 and '02.  Hmm, maybe I'll PM Bob...

Very sorry guys, I totally screwed up ... 89-00 rotor will not fit the 01+ I think, definetly not the 04+ and BobB wasn't doing those from what I remember.

He cannot mod the 04+ but 89-02 can be modified.

I put a 95' rotor thingy on my 01'   she runs but I know thats not the point.  does anybody know for sure?

Hell you guys are talking about 98'-00' rotor thingy's!!!!! :o :dunno_white:
