Alright, got the progressive springs installed....The ride is so incredibly better.
Dropped off teh bike at the shop for its much needed service. Now I'll at least know that it's in "serviced" condition.
Also, I bought the new jets (one size up)...Only problem; my local shop can't install them because of some California emission stuff...Meh...I can do that myself anyway.
Only problem...I can't find any #4 washers! I checked the Home Depot, kragen's, Ace Hardware, and Target (ya never know)...but none of them had them  :2guns:

Oh well...minor setback...I'm sure I'll find some eventually...

I got my #4's at Lowe's.  They weren't out in packages hanging like most of the washers were.  They were in the specialty stainless washers and fasteners drawer.  Mine came in a package of five.
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

You can also try a local mom-and-pop hardware store, if any still exist in your area. If you can't find any local to you, PM me an address and I'll drop a half-dozen in an envelope for you.

+1 to the mom and pop stores. I've found they usually have all the odd items that you can't find at the run-of-the-mill soulless corporation stores. Besides, support the lil guy! =P
Aaaaah, Los Angeles. Where if the traffic don't kill ya, the air will =P

Srinath can send you some.  You just need to let him know.  He will happily send you some #4 washers in exchange for Tootsie Pop wrappers.

that would be the air mixture screw that is capped off. you have to drill out the brass plug to access the screw. surprised they refused to do it. its standard on CA bikes. was it a dealer or independent shop?

I did *not* get married, thank you very much! :icon_mrgreen:

Oh, maybe you were talking about washers.  I got them at my local Fastenal.  www.fastenal.com  I got a bag of 100 #4's for less than $2.  They were various thicknesses though, so you'll need to measure them to get the desired 1.25mm.  Micrometers are handy.
Sorry, I won't answer motorcycle questions anymore.  I'm not f%$king friendly enough for this board.  Ask me at:

I guess they are a dealer, at least that's the reason the guy stated (they sell bikes and stuff too )

Heh, recently engaged....so close  8)

Oh yeah...bike runs a lot better now. They put a little too much slack in the throttle, and set the clutch to disengage a little too far out (for my preferences, that is).
They didn't fix my idle surging problem; which leads me to believe that they didn't even really clean the carbs at all...Oh well, gives me something to work on when I change the jets.

Oh, and the trip to the shop was the fastest I've gone and the furthest from home. Was actually quite the experience coming home in rush hour traffic (I resisted the temptation to lane split...I figure in due time I'll be doing it, but not yet  :thumb:)
