hey for all you canadian members like myself :)

i saw this in the flyer, looks not too shabby but would it fit the GS500F? If so, im definately picking one up tommorow!

I have one of these from Sears.  It fits, but I'm hesitant to recommend as I haven't become comfortable on how to best pick it up.

The GS500's centre of balance is more rearward than that of the sportbike you show.  To properly balance, the sidestand & switch is in the way.  But I really like the jack stand and I'm going to build & Dremel-out a wooden bracket that will support on the frame (avoiding the pipes).  I've put short 2x4's along the frame under the engine and it looks like it'll work.

i have a crafsman as well, an to get a good lift where im not scared of it falling off, i have to remove my exhaust.  thats becasue the headers stick down about 2 inches lower than the frame

I have that jack at home and use it when I am working on my wife's cruiser.  We bought it because the cruiser doesn't have a center stand.  It's nice to have the rear wheel off the ground when you're lubing the chain.

Since the GS does have the center stand, I've never tried it with my bike.

It is a nice solid jack.  Good value for $80.

I just purchased a MC jack lat week from my local PepBoys for $65 on sale.  I haven't tried using it yet, but if I can't use it on my '04, at least I can use it on my dad's VStar and my sister's Intruder.

I used to have one of those and yes you will worry about your bike fallling off of it - and with good reason - it's unstable.

I now have this lift:

Great lift - very stable - stows away well.

I bought a similar lifr from Harbor Freight and I love it! Have had bikes as big as a GS850, and a BMW 750, along with my GS500. The 500 is probably the hardest to get centered on it the best. But I really haven't noticed any issues with it wanting to fall off.
