I just replaced the valve cover gasket...

It was surgery for me anyway.  I replaced the valve cover gasket...  Now, every once in a while I can hear knocking, but it only lasts for like 2 seconds max.  I've only heard it twice now...  Would overtightening the valve cover bolts cause this?

doubt it... unless... uh.... your gasket is off track and hitting the camshaft sprocket or something... but really doubt its related... you didn't drop anything in the head on accident did you?  This could cause it

OOPS!  I forgot about that gallon of milk I spilled in there!  DAMN!   :laugh:

Of course, now that I think about it more, I believe that I heard the slight knocking BEFORE I took the valve cover off.  I finally have been able to ride on a more constant basis because of the weather here in MA.  So I completely forgot about the noise.
