Congrats man. And welcome to the site. :icon_mrgreen:
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Thanks to advances in automation, Nike shoes will be made by robots. Unfortunately, the robots will be made by children in Malaysia.

Get a motorcycle jacket (leather if you ride in cold weather a lot, or textile if you split it between hot and cold, and mesh if you're ALWAYS in hot weather), and QUALITY ALL LEATHER MOTORCYCLE gloves.

If you want one good reason to get ALL LEATHER MOTORCYCLE gloves, read this: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=20659.0

Check out NewEnough for good deals on gear. http://www.newenough.com/index2.htm

Quality gear is invaluable. Get some good motorcycle pants as well, for long trips and whatnot.

If you can find your size on there, and don't care if you match, then yeah, you can get some killer deals from their ebay store.

Since no one else seems to have suggested it, and you've already had 1 fall out of three times riding, I STRONGLY encourage you to take the MSF class.  I've never been on a bike before, took the class, passed, and I've never had a problem on my GS.  They help go over a lot of motorcycle specific defensive driving in traffic, and you get to spend about 15 hours riding bikes :)  It was only $100 at my local community college and worth three times that amount.  I highly encourage it (on top of getting good gear like everyone here is suggesting).
