@ a red light...

Does anyone else have a problem getting the light to turn green when you are the only person at the light? It seems like the gs500f is to light to trigger the sensor or something :(.
If anyone has that problem, is there a fix?

Its funny, I was woondering that the other day when I was stopped at a set of lights. But no quicker had I thought that did they go green   :cheers:

So I'm not the only one with a magnet on my bike.  I noticed that a previous owner put one on, and I was wondering why it was there.  I thought for a minute, and realized what s/he put it there for.

I've thought about getting a magnet, but decided against it for now. Reason being ... I've found that there's enough steal on the GS to trigger the light as long as you're right on top of the metal strip (embedded in the pavement).

Try it out for yourself and see if it works. If it doesn't, hey at least it was "free" to try!  :thumb:

theres a guy around here with a ratbike, and he mounted a subwoffer magnet under his bike and says he never gets caught at the lights.

I on the otherhand get stuck everytime. I just wait till its safe and run the red. F**k it.   I guess.
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

Sometimes you can't see the loops.  There's a bad intersection that I had to run the other day where I couldn't make out the loops.  They apparently paved over them, which makes them both less sensitive and more difficult to see.

A trick a friend showed me...  WOrks like a charm, but I would only use it late at night when you're sure you've been cycled...

Sit right over the sensor, drop the kick-stand and set the bike on it, kill the engine, and start the engine.

I've done it twice after being cycled...  Worked like a charm both times.  OR maybe I'm  :cookoo:

I believe here in California bikes are allowed to ride through a red at your own risk if a) the light has cycled at least 4 times and b) traffic allows you do to it safely. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What I do is place the bike on the centerstand, walk backwards around the bike 6 times, rub the traffic signal pole with virgin olive oil and some rosemary, kneel down and say a short prayer, chant "green light go" 3 times, then get back on the bike and flap my arms like a chicken for 30 seconds.  If that doesn't work I just give up and walk the bike home knowing that the traffic light has defeated me once again.

I hear that if you bring a gun along and shoot out the red light and green light you can't really be blamed for not knowing when to go, and consequently you can go whenever you want.

Idaho State legislature just passed a law last week that says you only have to wait at the light for one cycle and then you can proceed through if you are cautious. Very nice for when you want to turn left and the signal wont change. Woohoo
