You painted that at home? Where do you live, the Sikkens factory?

VERY nice. Love the wheels (just bought a set myself). did you paint the wheels from white to bronze? I ask because they come both white or bronze (as well as others, I'm sure you know).

Hey man thats very nice.  It looks like you did a good job.  I know exactly what mean going from knowing nothing to knowing a whole shaZam! load by tackling a project like this.  So, you wanna come paint my car?

Sorry, I gotta ask all the good turbo geek questions:
What CR are you running?
What peak boost do you run on pump/race/home brew gas?
Where and what's your power band like / have you dyno'd it?
What's your AFR like on the top end?
Am I right to guess Turboedit lets you modify the stock fuel tables? LUCKY!
Is that an aluminum or cast block? (sorry I know nothing about Hondas)
I'm guessing that's an aluminum head

But thats really cool, turbo cars are shaZam!!  :thumb:

I like it.  And you resisted the temptation to make it tacky.  No vinyl graphics, no GT wing, no manufacturer stickers, etc.
Have you done anything to the interior?  Some red and black Bride seats would look good.
Also, no body kit!  Very nice.  Just clean JDM style.

Good work.

I am a DIY fanatic.  was that a one step paint job?  I plan on spraying my pick up after I get the engine back in.

two step paint is gonna cost me an arm and a leg.

I always wanted a CRX. looks like you've done right by her.

Nope  :icon_mrgreen:. I just painted in my garage. Entirely preped. No pics of when I painted my car but here is my garage when I painted my friend's LS:

Yep painted from white to Bronze. Duplicolor wheel paint is amazing btw. Some of the highest quality rattle can paint I've ever used.

I pride myself with having an EXTREMELY clean OEM interior. Aside from a boost guage and oil pressure guage that replaced my center vents, a nice shift knob, shift boot, decent radio, speakers, and small tasteful sub, the interior is stock. I had ripped seats when i bought the car but they have since been repaired/ pieced together from various CRX's that I have encountered. For example... my drivers seat: oem top, oem passenger bottom foam from another car, oem driver bottom cover from another different car. No flashy seats for me. People can hardly believe I own stock seats.

9.9 to 1 CR
10lbs peack boost on pump gas
Powerband is nice off boost due to compression but screams after 4k. 4k I get full boost and right around 4.5k I get vtec.
Under load and full boost my AFR is around 12ish... been a while since I had the Wideband in the car.
Turboedit allows me to modify fuel tables, timing, launch control, boostcut, injector size, vtec activation (i still have to update my setup to use this), and I also have the option to do realtime data logging.
Honda blocks for the most part (accept an older prelude i think) are all aluminum blocks with steel sleeves.
You are correct with it being an aluminum head.

Definitely a single stage black. People are always talking about how awesome multistage paint jobs are but the fact remains that even some of the most respected hot rod builders use single stage (for black atleast) Black for some reason comes out beautifully with a single stage. Its just very important to wetsand and polish out any imperfections.

very clean  :thumb: are you on jdmcivic.com?

Never been to jdmcivic.com. I primarily hangout on honda-tech.com, homemadeturbo.com, d-series.org, turbod16.com, ef-honda.com and a few others that I visit infrequently.

even thought to filter the fans.  cool setup. you can bring down the garage door and sit it on the fans. good Idea.

I painted my first car at 17. it was single stage spray job, black on an RX7.

My hat goes off to you on the CRX..man.   that spray job is awesome.

Most definantly.

Do you ever frequent sohchonda.com? The site is semi down at the moment, but I looks as though you would fit in well.

I see you used the hf manifold. I used the same, but with a rhb5 , t-bird, turbine in a rhb5, probe, exuast housing.

I believe sohchonda.com was one of the sites that formed after the orginal "dseries.com/org" was taken apart. I recall a time when there was peace in the dseries universe then ppl were fighting over control of the site. Now there are many derived sites. I have been there before but I don't frequent it. Ported HF mani is the way to go.

Wow.  :o

That's a good looking CRX, man. Very well done. And i'm with JakeD, thanks for not going overboard. And like just about everyone else, i'm crazy impressed with the garage paint job. Had you painted anything else before you tackled the civic?

When i turned 15, i bought a 1970 VW Beetle for $300. i spent the next year and a half (didn't make in time for my 16th birthday) customizing/restoring it. i did pretty much everything myself...but i never got the balls to try and spray it myself. i wanted to...but i wussed out. It's always great to see stuff people did themselves turn out so good.  :thumb:

Thankfully, a friend of the family was a certified Mercedes Benz painter and gave me the hook up.  ;)

Wow... That's a really nice home job...

And...  Thanks for painting the white wheels.   :thumb:

Yeah I was one of the origanal from the hybrid site that was there for the origanal dseries site. I tried hard to keep it in one peice, but I found that it wasn't possible. A few of use gathered the more 'technically inclined' and created the semiclosed site that is sohchonda.

We had to keep it a semi closed site to keep the post whoreing down. It got pretty bad with every kid and ricer, squid, buying a honda then pimping it out and demanding respect. That way our site wouldn't split up.  I have lost four Honda sites I have been a member of in the past 10 years.

You seem to pretty talented so I would like to formally invite you to visit. PM me as Buzz.

To the mods of this site:

I am sorry for going so off topic, but there is a lack of real technically inclined people in the Honda tuning world. When you see somebody it is nice to talk.

Please take care of this great site. It has taught me more about my motorcycle and motorcycling in general than I could ever learn from local riders. People are fickle and can break down a great site. A group of people with a common goal is a power force. Keep this one strong.

this is gonna sounds retarded but my modified Starion Intercooler broke the only time I've been to the track. I have the end tank pipes JBwelded to the main end tanks. They ended up crackin at somepoint and cracking completely my 2nd run. I ran a 14.5 with no boost for the last couple hundred feet.  :icon_rolleyes:

Updated 99-01 Front bumper/headlight assembly
Type R Lower lip (?)
And side mouldings removed
Very nice clean Job :thumb:
