No More Leading ZERO's on the Clock...

I hit a personal milestone -- 10,000 miles on my GS500.

The story started late 2002 when I found this showroom orphan barely registering any movement:

Some 3 years 8 months later we exceed the celebrated turning of the fifth digit:

Happened during a 140 mile jaunt through the rural countryside of Michigan.  Happened in the middle of nowhere:

It took less than two hours later to break 10100.  It happened somewhere that away...

It's not something rare on this board.  Many of you folks hit this odometer mark within a season or two.  For me it takes a bit of doing -- family and work come before riding.  But it's a sign of GS500 maturity -- no more leading ZERO's on my clock, all done by yours truly.

... Life is sweet...  upon a seat... of a motorcycle built for you...  :)

Cool. I'll be at 10k in about 800 miles. I figure by the end of next month or early June, but who knows, also all put on by me.

It's been a good 10k huh?  :thumb:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

Hipocracy.... becoming more acceptable with the more power you think you have.

I didn't do it all myself ... obviously because I just got my bike about a month ago, but I broke 10k last Friday, on my way home from work, after getting out early for the day!!! How sweet is that!!! Congrats and welcome to the "club".  :thumb:
Bet you can't drink a whole gallon of milk in one hour!

Sometimes, there's nothing so satisfying as "the flipping of the digit" :)
You cannot escape our master plan!

Quite true Rema.  But had to be careful and watch the road as well.  Pulled over at the first convenient sport when I knew I was close to the 10,000'th mile that I put on rather than watch it turn.  A tenth of a mile takes som 10 sexonds at 40 -- a lot can happen on the road in just 2 seconds.

Permit a minor hijack of my own post.  I just noticed the intensity of my Neutral Indicator light in the before versus after.  What a difference a 6-LED bulb makes, eh?  Granted the first was probably with the flash on -- the second without -- but I'm still all  :) with the results of my All LED Dashboard  .

Thank you.  But I should have given Harry Dacre credit in paraphrasing his 1892 smash hit "Daisy Bell".  I'm of the 2001 Space Oddssey generation, constantly fighting the HAL at home and at work.  Don't know why that version came to mind, but it fits if you bend it the right way.

Hey... Motorcycles are meant to be enjoyed.  Ride on safely people...
