Phaedrus Memorial BAGS ride July 9th

The first year we did this, RideorDie started the first thread for the 1st BAGS ride (Remember that?  He now has a '90's CBR600) two months in advance, so in keeping with the fast pace of our valley I'm starting this thread 2 months in advance so people can plan.

This ride will be the Santa Cruz ride like we did last year (Which Bob did a great job of leading  ).

Meet at the top of Hwy9 and 35/Skyline Blvd. @ 10am, go down the seaside of 9 towards S.C., Bear Creek to Summit and eventually work our way to Old San Jose/Soquel Road.  Awesome ride, probably one of the best.

Is this one newbie friendly, too, or are the fast boys and girls going to go out to play?

There's less traffic. 






And, I'm sure as I get older as the date nears I'll be slower.

I just got my schedule and here are the dates available to choose from:

July 1st or 2nd
8th or 9th
15th  (16th is free Doc Wong riding clinic in Redwood City)
.........(22-23rd is MotoGP @ Laguna Seca)
Or, 29th or 30th.

Was the last one when we went to Babes to watch the MotoGP race afterward?

I'll definitely try to make it this year.  The first week of July is no good for me because I'll be away with the family but otherwise I don't know of anything in the pipeline

Yes!  Unfortuneatley, I will be going to the Laguna Seca MotoGP this year.    You wanna go (you drive, we stay at a freind's house overnight and he comes with us (he's flying in))?

I never bought tickets for this year, it was a bit too rich for my blood when they went on sale

July 29th gets my vote. I intend to pick scratch's brain from here 'til then, and my riding will improve enough to stay in the same zip code w/y'all!

Here's another tip that I learned recently: You don't want to slide to go fast.  Loosing traction actually makes you go slower.

It's going to have to be 9th for me.

15th-18th is vacation.

End of month is moving the company I work for to a new location (up the street, closer to me; my commute will be 6 miles  ).

Anybody can organize another ride if we all can't make it together for one day.  We're all busy people.  And, there's always next month (and September, and October...).

But yeah, we'd love to have ya'll down here, but Big Bear is a good 8 hours from the south bay. 

--and do you advertise this ride on the Bay Area Riders Forum?  Do you call it BARF BAGS?  Cause that cracks me up.
