It's good to have the board back on line.  I had no one to share my inane thoughts with.
I had a 5 day stretch with a business round trip of 340 miles and a round trip to the women's prison for mother's day of 560 miles.  One was N-S and the next was E-W.  Since mother nature has a sense of humor I had 20-25 mph cross winds every time I got on the road.

The strange thing about this mileage was the number of people that were pulling onto the shoulder to let me pass including minivans and semis.  In several cases, running at the speed limit.  This is probably the friendliest that I have seen people on the road.  Needless to say, it was strange.

I probably need a judgement call on this one from the board.  When I came out of the gas station, a chickie soccer mom was gassing up her Mini with her 4 year old son.  She said, "he thinks your motorcycle is pretty".  I thanked them and went on my way.  I told my wife that I was checked out by a chick and she said that maybe the kid did like my bike.  I am crushed, but there is flexibility for the judgement call.  When the 70 year old widow winked at me at the bank drive through, I can see that she may find me as a pretty hot item.
The question is, did my bike have the fascination of a 4 year old boy or did this 40+ bad boy have the fascination of soccer mom?  Ya'll be gentle, this is a sensitive subject.

One last item.  I haven't seen a GS here in Aggieland for the 4 months that I've had mine.  The past few days I've seen a blue 04 F and a black 05 F matching mine.

I think women can sense a man's marital status, so I say soccer mom was just being sociable.  You gotta think between the toddler and the man at home she has more testosterone & future testosterone in her life than she knows what to do with.  :icon_rolleyes:

Furthermore, men are fools when it comes to misreading women's intentions & motives.  In fact, women have to be careful not to say anything that men can take the wrong way, because the male ego is quick to latch onto any innocent smile or friendly comment, blow it all out of proportion, and become embarrassingly out of touch with reality.  :icon_rolleyes:

Women are much better at reading men in my experience.  They seem to be able to sense not only when a man is single but also when he is a homeowner.  It's uncanny:icon_razz:

But, yes, women are hard to read.  Just the other day I was at the checkout counter at the discount grocery store and noticed a couple cute China girls, FOB, standing in line and I kinda cocked my head and made some eye-contact along with a flirty little smile--just admiring the scenery--and it seemed to bother the cashier--whom I've only engaged in small-talk from time-to-time.  It's like, what was I doing giving my attention to these foreigners.  And, the cashier is, like, a white chick whom I judge to be out my league.  Bizzare.  So I have to chalk that up to just my imagination.  Or, maybe it surprised her because I'm usually very shy.  :dunno_white:

However, I have learned to trust my instincts when it comes to detecting, uh, homosexuals.  A guy's gotta keep his guard up!

Codger, being that my first bike was a new GS450, I wish you'd rethink that handle of yours!

Gisser, being codgerly is not a matter of chronology, but one of attitude.  GET OFF MY YARD YOU DANG KIDS.
Your view into women's intuition and men's oblivion is probably the most correct, but I'm going with Pablo's opinion.
I seek not truth, but support for my sagging ego.  Thanks Pablo.

The women in prison do not look like the ones in the movies, especially the ones that you are thinking of.  Plus who wants to get involved with a waman that has already stabbed 2 husbands.

Hard to tell without a pic.

Could be either way really...  Let your wife think it was really the kid...  And let your friends know it had nothing to do with the kid.   :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

No, she's impalement free.

im sure the kid did say something about your bike.  but do you think the BOY said "your bike is pretty"???

i think she used what her kid said, switched up "cool" for "pretty" to let you know it was from the both of them.

so yes, the kid liked what he was looking at and the soccer mom liked what she was looking at  :thumb:
