hi all, just got my gs this weekend.  its an 01 has 9k on it and rides great, but it has one little problem that bugs me and i thought mabe you vets out there could help.

when its warm, when you blip and or hold then close the throttle, the engine hangs at about 3 grand unless you slip the clutch a little and then it returns to idel.  i noticed if your very carfull and give it just enough to start you roleing but not much more then it will return just fine.  it is now raining so i have not played with it today but i thought id get a few ides from you to check out and see if i cant fix it quick.

thanx again.

btw, california bike.  rode from san fransisco (about see level) to its new home (about 2500 ft.) no change in behaivior.

I've had that and it's connected with the lean jetting but doesn't require anything but idle adjustment to fix.  When it's hot and idle is too fast just reach under the seat and slowly turn down the idle speed till the speed drops off to normal.  Repeat if necessary till it stops doing it.  Should be OK after that if hot idle speed is still in normal 1100 +/-100 rpm range.

The 01-02 models don't need rejetting for normal usage in my opinion.  Earlier models with the 2 circuit carbs need it.  Your California model may be different than my 48 state models though, still worth a try.

asome!  ill try that first.  it does idel a little high (about 1500)

thanx 4 the tip
