Thats what im talking bout. I enjoyed that thread.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Thanks to advances in automation, Nike shoes will be made by robots. Unfortunately, the robots will be made by children in Malaysia.

The GS is simply a better beginner bike.  Though many people disagree with me, the SV is simply not that great a beginner.

I'm no sure I understand their assertion that carbs are simpler than FI.  I'd love for hte GS500 to be fuel injected.  In FI engines, the computer does everything.  Carburetors are run on magic.

Carbs have about 50 fewer components.  Tuning is often easier and vastly cheaper (about the best value out there for a remap is my own MakBox and it's $200).  Carbureted systems are also far more durable than EFI setups.

I use both EFI and carb'ed setups and the ONLY thing I like about EFI is the fact that I can start the bike and go...no choke or warm up or anything.

theoretically you dont need a computer to tune a carb rofl, cept to get answers on jet sizes tho

Yeah, but they also requires work to be done.  FI is kind of a set it or forget it thing.  Carburttors are constantly using their vodoo to do goodness knows what behind your back.

Edit:  I guess being a computer guy, I greatly prefer a copmuter to voodoo/physics.
