hey any one put the  Vance & Hines Supersport #12029 on a 03 up

i read and read  and some said that it would block the oil filter.

does it? i just saw the video of it on the main page and i want one bad. i will also get the jet kit to go with it.

it is a full system of just a pipe that you have to weld on or what?

It blocks the oild filter and drain bolt on an 89-03. On the 04 it will hit the lower fairing.
Just what I heard on the 04.
Cool.

There were pictures on here earlier about the V&H on an '04 with the oil pan and stuff. The headers fit, but it's tight. The Yoshimura will not fit, but it seems the V&H has a little looser tolerances, so it can clear the oil an bolts.

The size of the oil cooler doesn't matter anyways. It's the oil pan bolts that were causing the interference.

So it IS a block back exhaust.... a V&H was on mine when I bought it, makes the oil filter change a bit of a pain, but it sounds nifty. I don't know what a stock GS sounds like, though.

it sounds like a lawnmower on steroids.

simple, remove the bolt (drain plug) and remove exhust for one time. now put in a T and cap one end off and use the other for the drain. or use a right angle pipe peace and do the same. but this would also depend on the clearance, but seeing how a good buddy of mine can make this stuff for me it wouldn't be hard.  hell i thought it was blocking the filter and i was wondering how

Here is a link from a prior exhaust inquiry:

I have the V&H (for the older GS) on my '04.  The headers did not allow for an easy oil change, so I used the stock ones instead.  Basically I have just the V&H pipe with a jet kit.  It will fit on your bike if you do a few Dremel trims, but it is a close fit.
