Sorry...just excited because everything I planted is finally up and growing...

100 long term sweet corn plants
50 short term sweet corn plants
22 yellow summer squash long term plants
19 yellow summer squash short term plants
10 Big Moon Pumpkin
5 sunflowers
20 cucumber plants
16 Bell Pepper plants
28 Sweet Pea Plants
15 Hot pepper plants (variety unknown...creepy Dutch guy gave them to my dad is a plastic bag)
8 Sugar Baby Watermelon plants
25 carrots
22 Green bean bush plants
15 Green bean pole plants
15 radish plants
20 pole tomato plants
20 bush tomato plants imported from Italy via creepy Dutch guy on a plane
50 of these (bonus points for anyone who can identify)

That sounds more like a farm to me    Got any chickens?

My garden has 3 tomatos, a couple different peppers, 2 basils, parsley, cilantro, and some strawberries.  The tomatoes and basil always turn out great, the rest is usually a crapshoot.

  well i do live on a farm and i do have chicken...i also have 200 cows and 7 mini donkeys, and peacocks and 1200 acres....


I do have strawberries growing but they're under the apple tree and my herbs grow inside...I freeze alot of the veggies from the garden

Hmmm.... food...

I mow lawns with Michelin, but can't seem to keep the snails off anything... especially the strawberries.  And the squirrel steals my tulip, they just twist it off it's crazy.

Strange imported plants are a bad idea.  Next thing you know we've got some sort of brown snake/killer bee type vine choking out all the indiginous vegetation and there will only be one person to blame.  .  . well three: you, your dad, and the creepy Dutch guy.

When I can figure out how to make things grow in concrete, I'll plant a garden.

I wouldn't accept strange plants from creepy Dutch guys; you could end up with a VW vanload of Grateful Dead fans in your field, smoking your Dutch hot peppers one night.

Glad to see someone still plants things!   I've reached the age when I realize why my aunts, uncles and grandparents got all excited over home-grown tomatoes that didn't ever see the inside of a hothouse! "Real" tomatoes rule!      Gassed hothouse tomatoes.

I checked before I planted anything jake...I worked for soil and water conservation so I know about these things...I wouldn't plant a purple loosestrife like plant, they're commonly imported, these were just free. The creepy Dutch guy is like 60, and his wife worked with my mom.

Actually kohlrabi, bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, and a few others are variations of cabbage. Throughout the years various cabbage mutations have been cultivated by various peoples all around the world. I believe that kohlrabi is of European origin.

Kohlrabi is european, very popular in germany. I'm half native american and half german so thats where that comes from (along with raw potato dumplings). Its been described as tasting like a broccoli stalk, cross between turpip/cabbage/cucumber, and various other things...to me it just tastes like kohlrabi. Its a bit sweeter than cabbage which is why I use it for slaw sometimes. They're best when they are smaller than a tennis ball, otherwise they get woody. Also good, chopped with cheese sauce  basically if you like broccoli or turnips you'll like kohlrabi.

In german:

Kohl = cabbage
rabi= turnip
