Kerry's K&N Drop In Filter Page

This link is missing? How come?

I was thinking of using a K&n filter that fits in the stock box, and then rejet.

I have a 2001. I do most of my riding above 3000 ft so maybe I don't really have to rejet. At elavation the air is thiner so I don't burn so lean.

Uh oh, I may have renamed it Kerry's K&N Drop In Filter Page...

Ah, here it is: http://www.bbburma.net/K&N_AirFilter.htm

So I didn't rename it...

It looks like the K&N comes with the restrictor when you order it, is this true? Also, see below for an instruction sheet.

i'd prefer to get rid of the stock air box as it makes accessing the carbs a real pain.  can someone explain why it's necessary to rejet upon replacing with one of these?

can't i use the idle adjust screw to modify fuel/air flow at idle?  at WOT, the engine vaccuum should be enough to pull as much air as it needs through the carbs for atomization/combustion.  am i wrong?

i just don't understand why the carbs need to be rejetted every time instead of just being adjusted.
