my brother has a yamaha r6, 2004...... he just bought new exhaust for it, and just has that old pipe sitting around. i'm wondering if i can put it on my 2005 gs500f, if it would be ok to use. i guess i need to rejet, but can i basically use that pipe though, or not? please help, thank you :)

If it's the can and midpipe I'm sure you can work something out to get it to fit. You'll need to have it welded on though.

ive got an r6 pipe on my gs. i beleive the exhaust on the r6 has a 45mm pipe just like a gs. but i got a r6 can with link pipe it has a 45 to 50mm adaptor on it, but the angles are wrong for getting past the rear brake ect. and ended up sticking way out wide or rubbing on the swing arm.
if it is the 45mm inlet to the can you will probly have issues trying to mount it as the gs turns just as it joins the can so you can't reall slip any thing on to it.
so in short. yes but no.
youll have to cut the link pipe and get it rewelded to make it fit

thats mine. you can see the join in the pipe.
