Well, today was the day. Showed up at the dealer around 10:30 this morning and the bike was ready to go. Gave them my cash, filled out some paperwork and I was on my way! The dealer I bought from is about 70 miles from my house, but the cool thing is there is a back way to go with some twisty roads. Of course, I took that route home instead of the freeway.  :thumb:

What a blast! I know I made the right choice starting on the GS. It gave me complete confidence, but not overconfidence. Even keeping the rpm's below 5500 I still had a great ride home. I drove my cage to work today, but starting tomorrow it's bike only!

The first group of motorcycles I saw on the way home didn't wave, but I saw 5 or 6 after that and they all did. Very cool! I feel like I'm part of the club now!

I'll post pics when I find my wife's digital camera. We just moved and aren't completely unpacked yet. The bike is an '06 Black and Silver.

Can't wait to get home and take it out for another ride!  :icon_mrgreen:

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Does that mean people who haven't taken the MSF are dummies?

Of course, what else could it mean?  ;)

Personally, I wouldn't take a bike out on public streets without first taking the MSF. I know my own abilities and I didn't have a level of comfort just coming from a dirt bike/ATV background. Does that make people that don't do it dummies? Not at all. It's just that knowing myself, not taking it and getting comfortable before going out on the road would have made me a dummy.  :thumb:
