Flowers ordered

I ordered flowers late yesterday.  The florist was from the same town -knew all about it.  She offered some interesting advice as far as what to have sent and I took her up on it.  Weaselnose thought it was a really good way to do it.  The family will be getting 5 different types bouquets of flowers in total.  $250 spent.

This florist gave me HELL for not giving the money to the family.  She said "Listen to me, I've been around a long time, I burried my 22 yr old daughter so I know what i'm talking about.  The family needs the money to pay for this -it's expensive you know."  man did I feel like a schmuck.  Anyway, after I explained about the charity thing, she still thought we were crazy for not giving the family the money  :o  I know this florist was a townie, and knew Rich's mom indirectly (friend of friend of friend...).

What a cool lady she was!  Any GStwin people in Norwich, feel free to stop by and see Mrs. Abbott at Abbotts flower shop -she's 92 years old.  Tell her I appreciated her advice!

The most shocking part:  She would not take my credit card number!  She said "I trust you, just send me a check in the mail" :o  Who does that anymore?  I ran to the mailbox to get it out before the last collection time yesterday!

That is so nice!  I hope that there was enough to make a nice contribution to Toys for Tots as well.  There's no doubt that his family and Kim will see how much Rich impacted our site and our lives.   :kiss3:

You have no idea! Took an hour on the phone.  She must have said 4 times, "No.  I'll just put you down for a $50 basket and you give the rest to the family."   But this is the reason why I like dealing with local companies -they know what's going on.  I think in the end we got a lot more value for our dollar flower wise.

Eh, it was no effort.  ...other than the long phone call   What a totally cool lady though  :thumb:

ps.  no address for the mother yet.  The florist said she will get it and not to worry about it.
