If you want to go that fast buy a Hirebusa or some big bore touring bike.

If you have wobble at 170, try riding at 160, that should cure it!  :cookoo:

(does the math) 105mph. Nice. I'm guessing we are going to find out what the true top speed of our little GS is.

Ok just a guess here. But would tightening up the suspension help this or make it worse? And if its legal in his country to do 100mph. Who are we to discourage him :) Besides Texas just introduced 80mph speedlimits on two of its interstates. So our Texan GS'ers are probaly going to be dancing with higher speeds as well.

And as for the speed being a bigger rush. Whats the actual speedlimit?

100km (60mph) is some rare places 110km (66mph)

but i take it as more of a recommendation then a law like if a corner says 80 u can do 120 if it says 60 u can do 110 if it say 40 u can do 70 if it says 30 u can do like 45 b4 stuff starts goin fun bags up

any who how do i fix the shaking

if your getting wobble maybe your wheels are not balanced. Make sure your tires are in good condition and have proper air. Is your suspension properly tuned? Check all those things. Also remember at your max speed your prob gonna get some wobble anyway since your pushing the bike to the limit. My old 93 pontiac grand am coupe had a 4cy engine. Speedometer read up to 110mph, fastest i got it was like 105, when i hit speeds at 95+ the car would start to feel shaky. I belive it's similar to your prob with the bike. Your just pushing to its max limit.

yeah your brake pads and/or rotors could be shot. doing burnouts huh, you kinda forgot to mention that :nono:. you doin wheelies too? if so your prob bending those rims up nicely.

Deathlucky? (BTW that S/N is in very bad taste given recent events). The GS5 was not designed as a high performance sports bike, at those speeds its at its limits so you cant realisticaly expect it to perform like an R6 or something similar.

I'd say either your wheels or your rotors are out of balance.  I have no wobble at 105 MPH indicated, so there is something wrong.  Either balance your wheels if you have the ability to do so, or take them off and bring them somewhere to be balanced.

Thanks for pointing that out captian obvious.  maybe if you'd had a look at my location you'd see that I'm from Australia as well.  :flipoff:

Anyhow the GS isn't a highspeed bullet, I'd reccomend that get your suspension sorted out and find some good winding road, or a race track. Steering the bike through a set of twisties can be better than sex (sometimes)

my 92 gs wobbles bad around 115mph...

i believe it is due to the lack of aerodynamics... it used to be fine at the same speeds before i took off the F-15 windscreen...
