Clutch Drag

I just finished replacing my left crankcase gasket (magneto gasket) and after putting the bike back together I have some serious clutch drag.  I readjusted the clutch cable and I'm pulling that cable as much as I can and still its dragging badly.  If I let the bike warm up should this eliminate the clutch drag?  I read in some other posts that this is a problem with wet clutches.  I have never experienced this type of clutch drag before after oil changes.  Could I have done something to pooch the clutch pushrod that would cause this kind of problem?

Do you mean that the bike will try to take off with the clutch pulled in, or the rear wheel spins with the engine running on the centerstand.  If #1, check to make sure you completed the clutch cable adjustment procedure correctly.  What is your lever freeplay?

If #2, it's perfectly normal for the rear wheel to spin with the engine running in neutral up on the centerstand.  The oil in shear between the clutch plates will transmit a little power to the transmission input shaft.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Did you realize that there are three adjustment points for the clutch free play?

Both ends of the cable (the lower end giving you most adjustment)
And that adjustment screw for the pushrod actuator under the small cover in the sprocket cover.

If you took out  the pushrod actuator cam and re- inserted it in the wrong thread that might have thrown you off also a fair bit.

Yes I have access to 2 of the 3 free play adjustments (stuck screws on the sprocket cover) and have taken all the free play out just to make sure that I'm really pushing the clutch in.  How can you tell that the clutch pushrod is inserted correctly?  My hunch is the rod is not aligned correctly.  Shifting gears is tough and the bike does not roll very well with the lever (i.e. disengaged clutch) pulled all the way in.  Any hints to getting the clutch pushrod aligned correctly?

Thanks for all the help...  At least my oil leak has gone away.
