Yay, finally after over a year I finally was able to change the muffler  :icon_razz:
After getting the flange from srinath yesterday, I spent some time after work today to do it. I'll probably modify it more but I got it on just in time to ride tomorrow!

Here's a pre faq (I'll finalize it later this week - missing pictures and will probably be more detailed) I just wrote up too on what I did...

* sound clip (choker still on in the flange). I'd say it sounds way better in person and when its actually moving:

Excellent writeup!  :thumb:

Did you have to do anything with the center stand since the stopper was on the old muffler?

That header pipe looks like it was cut waaaay too short ... weld it maybe, or clamp it ... whatever - I was hoping y'all leave more of the header on there.
BTW nice one you slipped in ... Yosh 3 bolt ... Glad it works.
Cool.

I'd say about 300 total. It depeonds on the muffler really -> you can spend from 40 to 700 dollars on one =P. Just eBay it!

Yes, I added a plastic stopper to one of the stand's legs. It stops it from going up to far  8). Right now it's just awesomely ducked tape into place but when I have time, I can drill a hole to screw it in.

Yah, I don't think it is that bad - but leaving more of it would help keep it more from accidentally slipping off  :icon_lol:. The plan is to eventually weld it on once I get my friend to do it. Right now it's clamped on both ends and I have a spring soldiered to each one.

I did ride it in to work today and it sounds great and is holding up!

Used and shredded car or truck (big rig - shredded lying on the road is best) can be zip tied to the rear shock leg/linkage. Or the stand itself.
Imjustpondering - was the slide on fit loose ... I am worried you hacked the header too short ... just ride on to a muffler shop and have them tack it in in 2 or 3 places. Header to flange ... and later when you have it off for painting - remember you should paint it every year ... weld it all around.
Cool.
Srinath.
PS - you snuck it in just as I was typing ... as usual I ignored that red message saying someone has posted in the middle ...  O0
