Hi everyone,

I just got my GS (2001) about a month ago and am just starting to get comfortable with it.  Im ready to join in on some group riides and was wondering if there are any organized Bay Area GS group rides.  I searched the forum but only found postings from 2004.  If there are any coming up, hit me up!

Also, if you know of a good motorycle shop/mechanic in the bay area (im in fremont), can you please let me know. Thanks!

Welcome!  There are plenty of us in the Bay Area!  :thumb:

You can find group rides with all sorts of bikes on BARF.  Doc Wong's clinics are especially good for new riders.

Also, for GS500 rides, check out the Meet and Greet section of this forum.  We just had one on July 9th, and there will be more throughout the summer.

Welcome! There are a number of us in the bay area. I think jbeaber isn't too far from you.

We recently had a BAGS (Bay Area GS) ride (you can search BAGS and B.A.G.S.), which was also a memorial ride for one of our members that we recently lost (really, really miss you, Rich).

Pictures of that ride can be seen by following the link in my .sig.  :thumb:

I'm up near Oakland in Piedmont, not too far from the Grand Lake theater.  I'm quite busy for the next few weeks but would definitley be up for meeting up for rides after that.

Welcome!

I'm going to try to organize another B.A.GS ride in August; Bob Broussard is going to host one in September.  And, maybe I'll host another one in October  :icon_mrgreen:

Usually, I'm a group ride leader for Doc Wong during the winter months.  I haven't been able to go for 4 months, now.

Welcome. And, umm, what they all said.

Also, check out http://www.southbayriders.com/. Another good bay area forum, and a little smaller than BARF (a good thing in my opinion).
