Why, by today's standards (i.e. the new R6) is the R7 still considered to be a great "superbike"?  Is it just the fact that it was way ahead of its time and extremly rare?  Don't get me wrong, I dig it...but how much better outfitted is it than an 06 R6?

I would say mostly b/c it was ahead of its time and rare.  Oh and it is outfitted with Ohlins suspension like the R1 LE, if that makes any difference.

Ohlins all the way around, and with minor tweaking it got 150 HP. Out of 750cc. Think about THAT.
