Trying to buy some stuff for my brothers bike, and im not too motorcycle savy. Looked through most of the posts talking about it but couldnt quite figure out what exactly to buy. All I got from it is that I need 40 pilot jets and I'm not sure which main jets I need. I have a Unifilter on the way but otherwise it is a stock 1993 GS500E.

I also saw www.sudco.com was a good place to buy the jets, can someone tell me which ones i need very simply (link or part #), i'm a tard when it comes to mechanics  :)

Thank you!

I just rejetted my bike after installing a UNI filter and a free flowing ehaust. It was recomended to me to run a 140 to 150 main jet and a 40 pilot. The local shop didn't have any pilots (I'm ordering some) so I just swapped out the main jets with some 145s and shimmed the needle with a #4 washer. (did that a while ago) The bike is much smoother now and has no flat spots, although the max power hasn't increased much. I think that I will order up a selection of leaner jets and do some experimenting to se which works best. My bike is a 1999 and came with 122.5 mains, so 145 seems way too rich, but my gas mileage actually went from an average of 53 with the 122.5s up to 57 on my first tank with the 145s. With the UNI filter and the stock pipe I would recomend starting with maybee 130 or 135 mains and a 40 pilot and going from there.

I forgot to mention that there is a how to on this site for rejetting, so check it out, it's pretty simple. It takes longer taking the bike apart and just getting to the carbs, than actually working on the carbs.
