Dude, she's a beauty! Striking.

What's that gold thing coming back from your forks?

bbanjo

Bravo.

That gold thing is a stabilizer, and I'd like details on how you fit it and what model you used.

Again, you must be proud.
No time to wash the bike

i notice remus doesn't make a exhaust for the gs500...  what bike is that exhaust really for, and how did it fit?

Washed, good paint, polished rims, smaller headlight (or lights, can't tell from that angle), new pipe. Nice but not too outrageous. When I do mine it's either going to be totally Mad Max or Technicolor. Haven't decided completely yet. I have until the weather gets cold again to figure it out :)

Have you ever posted (a) picture(s) of your bike(s), Srinath?  I'm just curious what a "Srinath GS" must look like.  I realize that we'd need to let you put a few thousand miles on your "new" one(s) -- or several months, whichever came first -- before you could take (a) representative photo(s).

Anyway, I appreciate the way you think.  Utilitarian - that's the "ONE TRUE" way...!  If my bike looks nice, that's good of course.  But if it won't get me where I need to go, what good is it?  (BTW, you don't WANT to see what my car looks like....)

Still, kudos to Sean for putting in all that work and having it come out well!

Well A Srinath GS looks rather fine...But it wasn't acheived by hard work or by throwing big bucks...It was acheived by fishing around for parts, hanging around places that if you didn't have the rusty chain for breakfast look you'd have your throat slit, buying parts from people here for which I am eternally grateful (special thanks to Greg Gabis for the mint white tank, and Kevin Caldwell for the beautiful 91 tail and fender...) etc etc. Like I said the easier way but none the less a lot of fun. I am awaiting some parts from qwkdtsun, redline racer etc...I trade/sell parts away when I dont need them or see someone who does...So its not really blood sweat and tears...more like waiting, talking and dealing...How is that. My 89 looks remarkably like snapper's 91 in the wall of fame but for the clip on's and powder coated triple clamps, headlight bucket and an 01 spec dash and corbin seat and I have no 1/4 fairing. Oh yea mine leaks more oil from everywhere, chain, valve cover etc
Simple actually. I am a very simple man...Like I have been aptly called cheap lazy bastard...in that order.
Cool.

Remus Viper for a GS500, Custom paint , Twin Bates headlights, SV 650 shock, Steering damper, Polished rims , hand crafted taillight assembly, fender chop, raask rearsets and pillion pegs, hand made heel plates and lots of man hours , not everybodys taste for sure but i have been fortunate enough to see this bike evolve to its present state , Great looking bike Sean and it was worth all the time youve put in  :thumb:

Don't rain on his parade...Turned our real nice.

That Remus exhaust IS specific for a GS500...another wonderful thing the Europeans have over us. Oh, and you can buy these full systems NEW from www.mandp.co.uk but it'll cost you $750 (includes about $75 shipping international). Yes, I've checked. And that is an aftermarket steering damper (universal I think, not specific to GS) also available at MandP.

Loks good Sean. :thumb:

Old Mr. Wilson

That is one fine looking machine! Where did you get that headlight?
I have been toying with the idea of getting a headlight change. This one looks nice as does the rest of the machine. Wilson
Taxes are Good. Millions that have been on Welfare for the last 30 years are depending on you. Also Millions that are coming over the border each year are depending on YOU.
Also taxes will fix our shitty schools and roads that have been broken for 40+ years.

You really don't get it do you???

There's stuff on it all over! Had the bike around 8 months now. To be fair, the pictures I have of it in it's original shabby condition do it a great justice! In the flesh, so to speak, it looked a LOT WORSE!

I was hoping I was wrong but you're forgetting that the Remus is a full system. The header pipe runs $435, from the same webpage:

HEADER
4-2-1 Header System
$435 (Part #0101 853092)

Bringing the grand total to $894! Cheaper to buy from www.mandp.co.uk where I got the $750 (shipped) price.

On any other bike, $750 for a full system is pretty normal, if not cheap. But on a gs people are unlikely to pay that much. At least in the US, where V&H runs ~$300 and Yosh used to run ~$300.
