I did a search but came up with very little in regards to this question.

I am looking at buying a new pair of boots to match my new bike!  :)

What do you guys wear, and why did you choose them!?

pantablo

Sidi Champion boots

They're comfortable enough to wear all day at the office. Broke them in that way and just kept wearing them...sell for $180 full retail. [waterproof too]

Also, check www.newenough.com for great deals (esp their closeouts and odds & ends).

I'm sure they will. Paul and Holly at newenough are very accomodating. email them or call them as I'm sure they'd be happy to have your business. Tell them you heard about them on gstwin.com (as we all should!)...

Onan's Law states : If you play with anything long enough eventually it will break.

I am leaning towards the Sidi or Alpinestars

However Oxtar look good and they are well priced... anyone own a pair of Oxtars?

$20 Combat boots from the local army/surplus. Because they were $20. Don't follow my lead, i really need moto-specific booties.

Good friend had a pair and loved them. I sold them on this site for him when he sold his bike.

I also wear Sidi boots (the women's "Rose")

I like them because they're pretty high on the ankle, but in retrospect, I probably should have bought a "racer" boot with more support. Oh well, these are good for everyday riding.

Went on a bunch of websites looking for boots...had to be at least over the ankle, close, well fitting, good support, comfortable, and WATERPROOF...best prices I found started in the 150-165 range and went up quickly...sooo I decided to take a look in a local Dexter discount shoe outlet...found a pair of leather, nicely lined, over the ankle lace-up boots...comfortable and waterproof.  65 Bucks.   A no-brainer. :thumb:

Joe Rocket. Don't remember the model. Not as comfy as they first seemed though.

Greg Gabis

Street--Sidi On Road
Race--Sidi Vertebra Chromo

I wear normal boots, not motorcycle boots.  Nothing fancy, but they work very well.

When I'm feeling squidly, I wear these boots.

One time I got that "between the toe" thing caught on the shifter and fell over at a stop light.

Be careful, those boots don't protect your ankle at all. Might as well be wearing shoes instead. That's why it's important to wear motorcycle specific boots-they are made to protect you in high speed spills, moreso than regular boots are. My boots have extra hard parts in places that will touch down if I fall and are pretty stiff.

Be careful what you choose to ride in (esp bbanjo!).

I got mine from a outdoor place that was going out of business, got them for $30 goretex waterproof 18" high boots that work great.
"Hairy Gutter" The Spot Behind Pantablo's Knee.
"Dirty Gutter" The Space Between Pantablo's Ears.

I love the thongs (a thong is NOT a G-String down under!) bbanjo!  :)

They are cheap, have great air flow in hot weather and look cool! But they don't offer much in the way of protection!  :nono:

It seems that a good chunk of people don't own a pair of motorcycle specific boots... but its good to see that we generally try and protect ourselves as best we can!

I wear my millitary issue boots. comfy and offer decent protection against spillage.

Nah. No thongs/flip-flops/flaps for me....ever really. Not unless I am carrying a board to the beach.

I've worn the same type of black work boot for about ten years now. They're called Spice Tan Lites (even though they're not tan.....could never figure that one out)

They're MUCH better than the strappers if you have to bail.
