Everybody knows that liter bikes are the prefect starter bike, what are you Sinrath some kind of wussy?  :icon_mrgreen:

J/K liter bikes are not starter or beginner bikes.  Just incase someone thought I was serious

Yeah man, then after you ride it for two weeks (only on weekends though) you can move up to a ZX14 or a Hirebus!

I've gotten kinda used to seeing GSXR 600s listed on ebay as beginner/ intermediate bikes.. all sorts of retards out there. I'm surprised most of them live long enough to resell it. Of course a lot of them are being sold by dealers listed like that. Talk about irresponsible  :bs:

The point here isn't that everyone is a beginner. The point is that liitre bikes aren't beginner bikes! :P

it's always amusing at the dealership i work at, guys with temp permits buying R1's.

some dude just got his license on an elite 80, came to pick up his gsxr600 and asked the salesman right befor pulling away how the clutch and shifter worked.

had a guy buy a used gsxr 600 (97?) made it 80 feet in the parking lot before running into the back of one of our mechanics parked suburbans. totaled the bike.

and it's not just sport bikes and young kids, you get older dudes too (not as many, but it happens).
alot of our cruisers are not at all beginner bikes, not due to sporting potential like a gsxr, but their sheer size and weight can be a real challenge, especially at parting lot speeds.
i have unrivaled contempt for the yamaha venture, i can't stand riding that thing around our lot (we set bikes out front for people to see, so we ride them from out storage building to the front, and back at night).

beginners of any age should buy a beginner bike, life is short as it is, why make it shorter? or why ruin a potentially fun activity by having a bad experience in it early on?

i'll always have a spot in my heart for small old bikes.
The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

I called my dealership and haggled the price of the bike down over the phone.  When I got there they didn't care how long I had been riding, but they made sure to try and talk me into looking at the GSX-R's.  I actually gave them a peice of my mind about that one.  As we're signing the papers they never once asked if I had insurance or the MC endorsement.  They tossed me the keyes and said "We'll see you in 600 miles for your first service!"  I actually laughed in the guys face and told him "Hell no you wont".

A classmate in my wifes class bought a busa (NEW 06) as his first bikeĀ  :cookoo:.

He did this knowing I drive a GS500F and another student was driving a sv650.

He has a arrogant personality, he never like to ask anyone anything, he feels he knows best.
