Hi yall,

Well, I just got done rejetting my bike, and when putting  it back together, i was left with one extra hose.  It's the smallest one coming from the frame mounted gas valve (the one small hose on the very top right).  I tried just blocking it with a plug, but now my bike will only start after i prime it.  Can someone please tell me where that hose goes?  Thanks!
Im freakin out!!!!!!!!!!   :o :o

Ahahahah.... Not launghing at you, laughing at the problem.

That's the Vacuum line. It opens the petcock when the bike is running by using, well vacuum...

It goes to the carbs I think, or somewhere thereabouts.

By using prime you are bypassing the Vac function.

It's not a bigie.

Ok I read kerry's post on house routing, and it seems to go to the left carb, but i don't exactly know where!!  This is frustrating, thanks for calming me down, but shaitz.. . I though after the rejet it'd be running like a champ.  Can you just run the bike on prime all the time or will there be any issues with that?

Yeah but the thing on your carbs will be sucking an unmetered ammount of unfiltered air.

In normal conditions yes you can but you need to find that connection.

OK I'm gonna try to find it tomorrow, with the help of the gstwin crew  :thumb: Right now, my friend rode the bike on prime and it didn't die, but the rpms were idling at 4k.    i'm trying to mess with the screw below the carbs but at 3:22 in the morning the neighbors are getting pissed off im sure.  I just can't go to sleep.  does turning the screw in lower the rpms? (righty tighy is assumed)

Turning it out lowers them, but you'll still be idling high.

The reason is that the vac line doesn't let in any air, right now you're letting in more air by having the connection open. By letting in that air it's like cracking the throttle open (kinda but not really)

Doing that would be a waste of time. Someone will post in here who knows where it goes. I could go look but I have to be to work in five hours.
Rich, RIP.

lol, i know the feeling.  are you saying i should let the hose suck air in or are u saying that it should not suck air in?  I feel like I need to get it running decently so i can sleep tonight... sigh...  I feel like an obsessive compulsive freak.   :cookoo:

Unless you put the hose on there is no way it will run decently.

And engines don't like unfiltered air.

After a very extensive search i found srinath's:

vacuum line from frame petcock goes to that metal fitting on the left carb about 1/2 way down towards the front ... and its hard to spot ... its facing the right carb ... inbetween both carbs ... yea ... impossible to spot.
Cool.
Srinath.

I'm going to sleep and am trying this in the morning.  I hope the fitting is the same on an 06.  Anyway, I'll be back on tomorrow.

Cheers.
