Buddha...all he's going to take out of that post is...

QuoteBusa go fast in straight line

well..... I guess I have too much faith in the other members of this forum.  :dunno_white:

the GSX-R 750 is something to keep in mind too. It's faster than the 600s and handles just as well. Just keep in mind that the 750 is a LOT of bike too.
I do think the BUSA is a crazy decision, but I'm just being civil about it; it's not my decision to make. Just keep your ears open to everyone's advice, think about it, and do what you feel is right.  :thumb:

....and expect a lot of crap from other members. :icon_rolleyes:

It all depends on who we are talking about.  If Pablo or Alpha told us that they were going to get a Busa...who would jump their asses about it?  No one.

Search for deathlucky's posts and I doubt you'd be giving him advice on anything but what suit he should be burried in.

The GSXR 750 handles the same as the 600 but has more horsepower and only weighs 5 pounds more.  That being said if all you want is raw power to go in a stright line, then the busa's for you.  You only live once, it's your money / your life.  Get what makes your happy.

The busa's marketed as a sport tourer in Europe, it's very comfy to ride.  IF I was getting a busa.  I'd throw some hard luggage on there and do a cross country trip.

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

I dont think the average rider could just jump on and  make any critiscism about the handling or performance of a Hayabusa at full tilt or even notice any slight before and after mods. You would be too damn busy just hanging on to it. Those who can are either profesional test riders or GP racers.

Back in 05 Cycle World had an article about a 700 hp busa.  Think I heard about 1000hp busa winning at bike week last year.  Not sure if it was 1000hp or 800ish hp.

The Busa is like a muscle car, it's not meant to be light. It's meant to clobber everything else with brute horsepower.

That being said a modified GSXR can lay down more power per pound (or kg for metric folks) than a Busa.

thats not nessicarily true, Stock Busa's have beaten many a modded gixxer1ks on the dynos

Ive been told this by people on this board, who work in motorcycle shops

per pound is the operative phrase.

Personally, I think DL would probably kill himself on either.  I have serious reservations about the life expectancy anyone who, when complaining about instability at near-top speed, says that going slower isn't an option because he lives for the adrenaline rush.
Sorry, I won't answer motorcycle questions anymore.  I'm not f%$king friendly enough for this board.  Ask me at:

my question is, can some actually ride an 800 hp bike

yea... there's a few psychopaths out there who are willing.
I remember reading in PB magazine the details of their "project" busa. they're trimming the excess weight and somehow getting it up to the 800+ HP range. Their goal is a busa that will do 250+ mph. you need that much HP on a bike to go that fast I guess.
there were a lot of little snags too- for example they had to put a piece of foam between the grip and front brake lever because the force of the wind at those speeds would actually apply the front brakes.
insane.

That sounds like a safety feature to me!

Yesterday on the way to church an 05 Busa pulled up to me and we were talking a little motorcycle talk at a few stoplights. THis guy looked in his early 30s and said he had been riding a long time. It was a VERY nice bike. When we were sharing the lane at the stop light, I was comparing our bikes and seeing how mine is so small compared to a Busa. He was telling me that he traded his GSXR1000 about a year ago for his Busa. He said the GSXR seemed too small for him. But to talk about handling, while I was riding behind him, It didn't seem that he had any trouble handling the corners. I actually would like one. But I won't get one, for many reasons.

Haha I quoted myself

Anyways, it's not total flat HP, it's HP divided by LBS like I said. Or Pounds per horsepower.

Comming back from outside of Atl last night my wife and I were doing 90 mph on the interstate, posted was 70 mph.  I was doing 80 but everybody was passing us and I was slowing down traffic so I sped up to the flow of traffic.  And we were in the slow lane?!  First time driving in that part of town.  Guess they don't really pay attention to speed limits there.

When out of the blue to our left 7 busa's came flying by doing probally 120, they were wearing those armor vest, but without the armor.  Oh and they were lane spliting at that speed  :o.
