i built a mini macro studio and started taking shots tonite. its not quite right yet but it'll get there..

Where did the wrinkles go? in the shots of your box i see the sheets all wrinkled... in the photos.. no wrinkles

haha i was wondering if neone would see that. i started with a wrinkled sheet as a backdrop but it sucked obviously so i went out and got plain white posterboard. im still looking for something plastic that wont crease!

That's pretty decent for something home made.

When we shoot small product in our studios, they get thrown into smooth half-domes so product can be even (or uneven) lit with no seam reflection on reflective objects. Try and stretch the material so it's nice and smooth and no wrinkles will show up on the product. Hide the seams as much as possible. Looks good!

You know what? I'll check tomorrow and see if we have any extra small domes lying around to ship out to ya if interested. Studio has shifted to strictly automotive photography in the last couple of years and we have no use for that stuff now. I'm sure they're just sitting in our warehouse somewhere collecting dust.

i wasnt actually using a sheet for the backdrop. i used a piece of white poster board. that small dome would be AWESOME! i'll gladly pay for shipping and whatever else it is that you want!

Why not get a small piece from a sheet of white formica, or the veneer fromt he front of a dish washer (also white). The former would likely have less glare, enough flexablity, and durability.

Just wonder around and look for something white, dull, and flexible... Then ask him where you can find what you're looking for.
