So...I am heading back from my parent's place in Beverly Hills.  405S, about 7:45 this evening, and I'm hauling ass, listening to Radiohead "There, There", I'm in the carpool lane at about 100 indicated.  I see a CHPie with no light bar, and slap my foot on the brake pedal to try and drop some speed before he (hopefully) sees me.

No dice, and I get the flashing light parade escort to the shoulder.  He doesn't give me any grief about having the iPod in both ears, nor sneakers on, doesn't want insurance if it's under the seat, and doesn't even check license, just asks that I get it changed ASAP (haven't updated it from an old address about a year old, and I'm due for a new card anyway).

Man, that was easy, and here I was already thinking of how I was going to become this cop's latest pain in the legal ass.

I guess helping people out here and there with their little daily troubles is worth it, as the Karma Police are watching.

you bastard.
+1. Last time (the first time) I got pulled over, the cop wouldn't even talk to me, just started writing. And I was only doing 25 Km/h.

Damn.

Every day this week, the CHP have gotten behind me, been beside me, or flown past me....every time, I think I'm done for, because while I may be a little slow in the twisties, my throttle hand has real issues on the freeway.... I haven't been pulled over once....ever... I must be a saint and have enough good karma banked for decades...

Karma Gawdesses..please note that I'm neither bragging nor boasting...I'm simply worshipping your Karmic holiness-es...please, please, please continue to ride with me....knocking on wood.... love, Love, LOVE the Karma Gawdesses!  :kiss3:

man i never get off that easy.  I would have not only gotten the ticket but probably had my license taken on the spot.  Cops around college towns suck, even if you are a townie...

Yeah, people say LA is such an evil city and the CHP are ruthless, but I've had nothing to complain about in my almost 4 years of living here, and I've logged probably 15K in the last 2 years in either LA or San Diego or some trip in between or thru, so I've definitely been out there.

I'm fairly certain that he wasn't riding his bike, but was rather driving his car.

No, I was on the bike, but just figured he would say something negative about it, being a rider himself (so he told me before he went back to his car).

Ipod+sneaks+speeding+etc etc etc, he could have done a lot worse.  Not that sneaks on a bike are illegal, but just figured he'd add it to the lecture fodder.

Lucky man. I got tagged a couple of months ago before I even had plates on my RR. Pulled over and did exactly what I read you should do in that situation. Ignition off, helmet and gloves off and on the tank, hands flat on the helmet. While still in his car over the loudspeaker, the cop told me to take my keys and throw them over my shoulder and behind me to the ground (which I did). The guy was as nice as a cop could be I guess, but I still got ticketed. "85+" on the ticket (but it was more like 100). Yeah, I was an idiot. That's the first and last time I'm ever getting a ticket on a bike. Since then, I wont do a single mile past 72mph on the freeway. Oh well. :thumb:
