Cleaning questions

When washing up the outside, just shining up...what do y'all use? For the tank, front fender and tail? for the frame, motor, etc...

Also, what do y'all use to condition/clean the tires? Armor-all?

i use a mild soap and a bucket of water for the entire bike and then wax all the shiny parts that are painted.  NEVER EVER EVER use armor all or any tire shine anything on the tires as they will make the tires VERY VERY slick, and we don't want anymore crashes.

You can use pretty much whatever soap and wax that will work on a car. Avoid using dish soap on the waxed surfaces as it can remove previous coats of wax.

Whatever you do DON'T USE ARMOR-ALL ON THE TIRES!!!  YOU WILL CRASH! That stuff is super slick, it's like wiping the tires down with motor oil. It even says not to use it on motorcycles on the bottle. Don't use any tire shine. If you really want the shiny look, you could put a little bit on a rag and wipe the sidewalls, but don't get any on the tread.

And simple green works well on the greasy/oily parts, WD-40 works well to remove road grime and chain lube from wheels, swingarm, etc.

i wouldn't even get tire shine anywhere near my tires.  If you wipe it on the sidewalls it will spin off and could get on the tread where it will wait untill you are in a nice little turn and hit that one slick spot and bam.  All it takes is a little spot hit the right way and it will initiate the slide that can and prob will at least give you a case of road rash.

Pro Honda Spray Cleaner & Polish. I use it on basically everything, and it works like a charm. Unfortunately, it isn't sold in Kalifornia anymore, so you would have to order it online.

And, don't use that on the tires. 

The most I would do is spray lightly on a cloth with Protectant 2001 and rub on the sidewall, and make sure to wipe up any excess.

uuuuuummmm sry but i put armoral on my tires(on the parts that dont touch the road) and havent had n e problems with it plus it makes tha bike look great....but i usually use armoral wash and wax so that i dont have to wax the bike...use armor all on all of the black parts and use chrome polish on the heat shield on the pipe

While tire shine on motorcycle tires may make it look awesome, it won't look very good when it's snapped in half and in a million pieces scattered all over the road. For whatever reason, if your tire got punctured and developed a slow leak while you were riding and you didn't notice, the sidewall could actually fold over in a corner and you would pretty much crash instantly. Just keep them clean with soap and water and you should be fine.

i use blackmagic tire shine on my bike and i have never had a problem and i'v been doing it for almost a year . you just have to watch what you do ...... but like it is said early to each its own . if you dont like the idea dont do it . if you think you can do it and be ok then do it . just triple check the tires and make sure theres none on tires
