that looks interesting, I know that Redshift has a sheepskin cover along with a couple of other members, please let us know how you get on with it.

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

I added foam to my 05 seat to level it.  It also has a better profile across the back.
I used the foam from an old seat as the addition, Thx Alpha, which gave me a similar starting profile.  Plus it is stiff enough foam so it holds its shape.
Recommended tools, good staple gun and electric carving knife.
It appears better from a short ride, but I currently have the forks stripped and waiting for parts, so I haven't put much mileage on the mod.
I'll post when I am back on the road.

This isn't so much a preventative suggestion as it is a what-to-do-once-you-have-monkey-butt suggestion:  use vitamin A & D ointment.  Yep, the same thing moms smear on their babies' bums will work for your bum too.  As a former long distance runner, I would use it when I would get chafing in sensitive areas .  Man, it works fast! (don't use it if you are allergic to wool, as its chief ingredient is lanolin :nono:)

I would worry about "slippage" (either ramming your nuts into the tank or sliding off during low-speed leaning moves) with the beads.

Has anyone tried one of the "air seats"--you know, the kind that look like a foam waffle with a cover on top?  It looks like it might work to prevent monkey butt. :dunno_white:

we went to alaska and averaged 700 a day. I say the best starting point is the kind of underwear.  Loosely woven cotten breifs of boxer breifs are horrible, they have ridged weeves.  I bought some regular boxers, (I hate boxers) but since they were tightly woven fabric it was alot better and I didnt have a problem with it at all.  I rode with that for 15 days out of the 16 days we were gone.  Try that if you dont mind riding in boxers but If you do mind,  I hear the sheepskin is really nice also.  My dad tried the bead and a gel waffle pad with mesh on the top to let air flow and he said the bead was pretty crappy and the gel waffle didnt work that well either.  But I havent heard anything bad about the sheepskin.  I was wearing non ventilated riding pants the whole trip and it looks like I peed my self when we got off at the end of the day from all the sweat and I didnt have a problem with monkey but at all.  But a level seat helped too, (rode a v-strom).  When I had my gs scooting on the seat because it was sloped made monkey but worse.

Do you have the thingies on the sides of your tank that you can grip with your inner thighs to keep you from moving forward? I know scratch has those on his purple beauty, and he's very happy with the results. Perhaps a combo of that and the beads would help cure your monkey butt.... This is one thread which is NOT worthless without pictures. :P  :icon_twisted:

Umm, Pandy...isn't that a little personal?

Nothing's too personal amongst our GSTwin family...  :icon_lol:  :icon_mrgreen:

The thingies you stick on the tank, silly!  :flipoff:

Just checking Pandy.  You know, the last time I gripped my thingies with my inner thighs, I not only moved forward, but fell down on the ground rolling in pain.

BTW:  Are we talking about one of those tank bra thingies (which I hope are easier to take off than those women bra thingies)?

Fortunately, I don't have THOSE kinds of thingies..... of course, we girls have our own thingie issues...  :bs:

Not the tank bra (though I imagine some of those would work?).... scratch has the sticker kind.....two of them...stuck to the sides of his tank..... and I think the girl bra thingie would be a lot easier to take off than the sticky thingies on his tank....  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_twisted:

... butt (pun intended) I've found it is not a panacia for eliminating saddle soreness.  I've found most relief by wearing a pair of cycling shorts under my Draggin' Jeans.

I'm convinced that to largely eliminate the effects of engine vibration is to use a Roho AirHawk Seat Cushion.  No one that has shelled out the cash for these puppies has ever grumbled that it didn't work.

If I had a lot of miles to lay down with a GS500, I'd be on the Internet with my credit card number handy.

Pandy are you talking about the stomp pad?  They stick on the sides of your tank and have knobs on them to help with griping the thank with your thighs.
Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

You could just buy it without seeing it like anyone else who isn't in the area. Buuuuut since you aren't paying any extra for the fitting, and you get to try it before buying it, saving money and hassle, just wait till he's back in town. Many other places wouldn't offer this for no charge.

So stop whining
