Footpeg Help Needed

Hi all!

I just purchased a new GS500F and need some help with modifying the footpegs. My problem is that, while the left side is very comfortable, I have a bad right knee and the right peg position causes terrible cramping after just a few minutes of riding.

Does anyone know if anyone makes an adjustable footpeg kit for the GS or how I might be able to lower either both pegs or just the right peg by an inch or so?

Many Thanks!

Adding some engine guards and mounting some forward pegs on them is a good way to move/stretch your crampted legs a bit when in the saddle a long time.

Looks good - this would work very well - where did you get your engine guards?

Many Thanks,

I got mine from a local Suzuki dealer years ago for my 97 and transferred them to my current 02 GS500.  Suzuki part no 99950-70104.  I checked a parts fiche and it said it was discontinued.

These aftermarket SW-Motec guards are still available and rather neat looking but they cost about twice as much as I paid for the OE guards back then.  You might find some OE guards if you shop around online and locally by part number.

Just noticed you said you have a GS500F, the case guards won't work with your bodywork.

Hang out there, we may flame, but we don't hate.

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

And it's a pity they did. Those case guards obstruct lean angle the least of all commercially available types.

And they do their job. Even at 75 mph. (Don't ask me how I know.)
