I'd have kicked their asses. Who cares if there's two...ride the first one down and clobber the second in confusion.

Glad your OK. You are sooo lucky you weren't seriously hurt.
First thing i thought as i read this was that the car was stolen. Hope this ain't the case.

I'd hunt them down, bring them home,  bend them over & cement there hands & feet in a block of concrete & then use there butt cracks to park my bike every night.

UPDATE:  I called the police station today.

I again called at the wrong time.  The officer that was manning the station was not normally in the Traffic Beaureau (sp?).  He did try to help me as much as possible.  He finally found the police report from my incident.  All the information is there (insurance details and such), but he didn't know where to look to find out if the @$$hole was caught yet.  He did print a copy of me, and I just have to go and pick it up tomorrow (I was working until 4:30 and they close shop at 4pm).

Hi Ann,
I'm glad you are unhurt after this craziness.
I look forward to hearing that the cops have found and charged the idiot responsible.
At the same time, you are VERY lucky that:
1) Your bike's damage is relatively minor -- I wouldn't think that the paint chip on the rim is something that happened here (it probably happened when the tires were mounted). Because of that, I really hope you don't expect insurance to cover a paint chip on the rim by replacing it. Touch it up and be glad that the rim and YOU weren't more seriously damaged.
2) The idiot who hit you didn't turn his car around and go after you.  You had the smarts to get his license number, at that point let the police handle it. Which is what you did, but next time, fight the urge to be Superwoman. It can be dangerous. I wouldn't want anything else bad to happen to you.

Let us know how this goes.
All of the damage to your bike is relatively easy and cheap to fix. No body work, nor damage to you.  A good thing.

Let's all be careful out there.
Yours,
Todd

Since you're the first one to make this mistake in this thread...  I'm quoting you.  Just because...

I'm a man.   Uh...

Unless that's what my parents told me...  If men have this dangling thing and a bag between their legs, then I'm a man.

Anyway...  About the rim...  I mentioned my car accident regarding my cage.  The rim had NO structural damage; only minor scuffs.

They replaced the rim for me.  They also replace the rubber.  Both didn't have to be replaced, but they did.  Mainly because it wasn't like that before.

My rim COULD HAVE been affected like that.  If you look at the pictures of the marks on the tires, you'll notice that the marks are on the outer edge of the tire...  Not the middle (center) part.  THAT doesn't make any sense, but there are marks on BOTH sides of the tire.

Speaking of the tire...  I've been riding since, and some of the marks have dissappeared.  I'm glad I took pictures first.   Most of the marks are stil there though, so when I visit my insurance agent, they will still be able to take pictures.

The TRAFFIC BEAUREAU closes at 4.  the station still stays open.  It's probably like that everywhere.

That sucks! There are soo many f#@!ing idiots out there, I bet the car was stolen though, the guys were probably drunk too? You can always meet the true owner of the car and see if it's the same person though. People are lucky that I don't carry a gun...

I just got back from my trip to the police station and insurance agents.

The F*CKING @$$hole DOESN"T HAVE F*CKING INSURANCE ANYMORE!!!  He cancelled his policy last month.  I just went to a local repair shop and he listed all the things that were damaged and will call back when he has an estimate.  I have to take him to small claims court.

I f*cking wish I searched that car before the cops got there.  They took into evidence $697!  That would have covered ALL the repairs and some.

I have to get ready for work, but when I get home tonight, I'll scan and post a copy of the police report.

No uninsured motorist insurance required there?  I believe that's one of the things I'm required to have in VA.  Have you talked to your insurance company yet?  An accident that was not your fault should be taken care of without affecting your rate.

And if that guy was driving without insurance, he should be looking at major fines .. at least he would here.

Sucks man.  Maybe you don't block out his name on the police report ...  :icon_twisted:

Never remove your helmet, at least not until a situation is fully under control and a final stoppping point has been reached!!!! 1) If you have to and can give chase the helmet should be on 2) Don't ask how I know this but full gear although it slows you down in a fight softens blow's alot. And hard armored gloves do a number on other people. That helmet keeps you from having to worry about getting punched in the face or smacked in the back of the head.

Good job getting the plate number first though.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

Small claims court isn't a problem...small taters.  Find out if you can contact the the driver, though, prior to court.  Tell him you will be suing him for the cost of court + the damage to the bike + a random amount for being an idiot...just don't tell him it's for being an idiot, say it's for "pain and suffering" or some stupid shaZam! like that.  Charge them for a new rear wheel and anything else they "might" have touched...especially if they tweaked your frame...plastics, fenders, lights, etc.  Put absolutely everything on there you can.  I'd even go back to the shop you got an estimate at and tell them you'll want the wheel and stuff replaced and added to the estimate so you can send the guy a hard copy and what you'll be suing him for.

After that tell him that you're willing to setlle out of court for $700 or some similar amount, and that you'll drop the whole thing.
