suspension linkage bearing sizes

any one got any idea what size the needle roller bearings are?? i can't find any sizes in the fiches, the haynes, the offical suzuki service manual
anything in the clymer??
any one got any ideas as to what size they are??

I replaced them a couple of years ago, but I cant remember the exact designation other than it was an NK series. I got them from a local bearing supplier for about £20 all in after taking one to them as a sample. They are standard ISO items so dont pay the daft Suzuki prices, stick with a good make like nancy boy,  SKF or INA. The link will help you to ID them but you will need to know inner and outer diam`s. You might pick them up by measuring the housing and pin diameters but you have to be accurate so use a Vernier
caliper.

Thats so weird...............I type in `nancy boy`, as in the bearing manufacturer and in the post it says `nancy boy`. I tried modifying it but it comes back..........

Check model year, earlier bikes had 2 diff brgs and later models were all same.

that's what poorly designed word filters do.  G.ay becomes gey, even if it's in a name like Gaylord or Ben ghey.  F.ag becomes nancy boy, even if you're talking about a bearing manufacturer.

Are you looking for the outside diameter? I've got a chassis handy to pull one and mic it for you.

I pulled the lowering link bolt, center of the knuckle.  The sleeve #3 has an OD of 17 mm. The bearings are pressed into the knuckle. I measured a little more than 24 mm on the ID of the knuckle.

I replaced these bearings last year. The difference between the Suzuki bearings and the ones that I got from the bearing suppliers was that the Suzuki ones had rubber seals within the outer bearing case and the (cheaper) replacements did not. I put some rubber o-rings there instead, otherwise, the grease may wash out of them pretty quickly in the rain.

My bearings were so knackered that they just collapsed when I tried to remove them and I had to cut the old cases with a hacksaw! I can't believe it ever got through the MOT!

Your supplier gave you the wrong ones. It reinforces the point I made earlier, If are sourcing them from outside of Suzuki you should take the old ones in as samples for careful examination by the supplier or identify the correct ISO ref no`and order for that. Needle roller bearings are available in many designs to suit the relevent application and some are available with integral seals as a variation. The designation will end 2RS or 2RSR for a bearing with seals fitted at both ends. Designations, sizes and variations are all explained in the link I posted earlier. The number quoted in the Ronayers list is I suspect a Suzuki part no for the bearing which as luck would have it includes its dimensions but its not the ISO number. The ISO number will indicate the bearing type/design (machined, drawn cup, open or closed ends, light/heavy series and if seals are fitted). Its important this infomation is correct if you order them from a supplier. I know for a fact the correct sealed ones are available outside of Suzuki at much less cost because I have bought them myself. The outfit I got them from have now ceased trading but here are a couple of places to start looking.
