The death penalty is a little too overboard for first offenders when it comes to child molestation. Twenty years at hard labor and being Bubba's Buddha Loves You should suffice for first offenders. I would also recommend mandatory castration for the offender.

Second offenders should just be locked in a 20' X 20' room, built from solid concrete, for an hour with a dozen really pissed off women. There would be no need to waste tax payers' money on a prison sentence then. The cost of cremating what little is left of the offender wouldn't be all that much.

The trouble is they get placed in protective custody & not in the general population, noy saying that their time inside is a bed of roses.

Personally I think they should be taken out in the bush & get a bullet in the back of the head & their bodies left for the animals.Definatly no christan burial.

If any of my boys ever got touched There would be one less oxygen theif on the face of this earth.

Well I just did a bit of research and apparently our good governer is full of shaZam!...blowing hot air.  Child molestation is already a capitol offense in Texas...which means it's already punishable by death.  I didn't know that.

Still not really okay with it...but I have my own double standards I guess.  I look at certain situations and think that it should be mandate...while others I think it's too strong a punishment...but I guess that's why we have impartial courts (right).

Okay now I'm getting this information from a site unassociated with any legitimate Texas site (I'm too drugged up right now to handle sifting through Texas code)...but this states that all capitol offenses in Texas are punishable by death...and that statutory rape is a capitol offense.  That creeps me out because I know sooooo many cases of statutory rape are total bullshit...I mean hell I've been with kalee for nearly 5 years, she's 20 years old now, and I'm 25...do the math...

If it were a simple matter of parents protecting their children, the world might be a rosy, happy place. But what about the many, MANY cases where the monsters...er... molesters ARE their frickin' parents. There goes that rosy, happy theory right into the garbage can.

The last statistics I heard/read suggested that only 25% of molests are reported, and a small fraction of those are charged, prosecuted, or punished. My own wild-@$$ed guess is that 25% is a hugely-inflated number. I would guess that perhaps 1% of molests are reported/discovered.

The others who should be punished are the co-enablers. These scum are the people who KNOW about the molestation and do nothing.

I have no sympathy or mercy for any of these cretins.

Harsh? Abusers of children deserve harsh. They don't deserve to breathe the air the rest of us breathe. I'd be more worried about their "rights" as mentally-ill people if it wasn't for the fact that child molesters are never cured, and it's never just one child.

People just have to take care of thier kids and know where they are at all times.  Lock the molestors up for life, but it's inhumane to kill them.  They are sick people who need help in jail.  We, as a country, can not jump on the killem all bandwagon.  It will lead us down a path that we need not be on.  Next, there will be proposed legislation to send small time offenders to jail for 25yrs for drug related crimes.  Ohh yeah, they already have that.

Okay, I don't believe that it's whether you have good parents or bad parents at all. Your parents aren't there with you every second of your life, and they will ask "where you are going? what are you doing?" and many will lie. So when the parents think they are at the neighbors house they really took the bus downtown and then got molested in an alleyway. Or maybe the 16 year old girl went running, like many do, and got molested. Gee, where were her parents to keep an eye on her!!!??? It doesn't work like that, I don't care how good your parents are, they are NEVER with you 100% of the time to protect you. So it's not USUALLY the parents fault.

Secondly, if we lock up the hundreds of rapiests and molesters this would make our jails overflow and we would run out of room in no time flat (we already are). Here in Oregon they are actually letting people out really early just because our jails are full with sick people that should be put to death. You think it would cost MORE to put them to death?? Think again, taking care of them for the rest of their life isn't free, we feed them, any doctor visit or surgery is paid for, they have TV, a library, hell one jail even has a starbucks in it. This is all paid for by us tax payers. But many of them just claim they are mentally ill, go to some institute, and "get better" then they are free. And do it again, and again, and again. Most of them will moleste/rape a girl/boy, usually a girl, then murder them. Kill the SOBs!!! They don't deserve to live! And just maybe if we have the death penalty for thing people just won't do it. How about, if you steal a car you get death, or if you assault somebody death. Or we could always just say, for every crime you commit you get one finger cut off.

Hell, lets even throw decal fraud in there!

BUT!  Child molesters and murders are the VERY few criminals where the punishment matches the crime.   Murder can get you the death penalty (most times it doesn't though)....   But, every single child molester that ever went to prison got ass-raped by everyone in the place.

It's basically a rule...  If you go to prison for child molestation, you are the bottom Buddha Loves You of everyone in the place.  Most times, that applies to rapists as well.


How fitting?  You get to spend the next 12.5-25 years of your life getting reminded of why rape is such a horrid crime...

I agree... I don't really like the death penalty, I think we should rehabilitate when possible, but if you serve 25 years and do it again, your past rehabilitation.  I was always a fan of the three strike rule.

Well, our jails aren't really full of pot heads, because here in Oregon you can get a note from a doctor saying that you need marijuana for medical purposes (which is easy to get) and you can 'legally' use it. Even though it is federally illegal....which is supposed to override state laws...right...

Our prisons are still full of potheads. I used to live in Mendocino County (marijuana heaven), and there were plenty of stories of folks going to jail because they had some weed on them (not to mention having their vehicles confiscated).

BUT...back to my real point...if there weren't so many druggies in our prisons, there'd be more room for child molesters. And I think child molesters should be housed with the biggest, meanest husbands that they'll ever know.
